That moment when you meet the honorary #Daytona500 pace car driver, your childhood hero, & the 🐐.... Peyton Manning.
As well as one of the best natural slot wide receivers of all-time @bstokley14. #AllTheFeels#Colts 🏁
The Colts roster is bad, and only got worse after trading two of its best players last week. That being said, Jones isn't doing anything to push the needle right now.
He's not elevating his teammates. He's not making plays. He's turning the ball over pretty frequently.
Think the general consensus among Colts fans was that QB Daniel Jones could very well struggle this year coming off the Achilles tear.
That being said, not all of his issues have been physical, and he's clearly regressed in unrelated passing areas.

But one mistake we haven't discussed is the Colts propping him as a high-end QB who could overcome it all. They should have spoken in more realistic terms + set realistic expectations (esp in light of his Achilles). When you don't, and he plays like THIS, you look silly. (more)
@Ozai75 I love how Colts fans are entitled about making the playoffs, when they haven’t done so since 2020.
You can’t even worry about division titles, let alone winning the Super Bowl, if you can’t even make the playoffs.
Good grief.
At this point, JT is the last veteran remaining who carries clout based on his complete body of work here.
If it's just going to be the kids without adults in the room, I think you've got to go with a proven head coach like a Mike Tomlin etc. who brings an identity and culture.
@MikeShive He made the playoffs 13 of his 19 seasons in Pittsburgh, including in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025, when the Colts made 0 playoff berths during that same span (2021-2025).
I'm not going to diminish his teams' playoff appearances when we can't even get into the postseason anymore.
I'm not saying AR is the long-term answer either, but at least a second half of 2026 audition can definitively close the book on his chapter here one way or the other.
In the EXTREMELY rare chance that he consistently shows out, Colts would still have the franchise tag to use.
Whether it's Achilles or regression, D. Jones clearly does not have it this year.
With Steichen looking like a goner at year-end (or sooner?) and DJ by default then, whats the point?
At least AR offers dual-threat mobility and maybe some sort of spark. https://t.co/U5O2uCJdb5
We've gone the coordinator route two times in a row, and it hasn't worked. The heart, hustle, and fundamentals of this team stink as a base line, and you've got to find someone at HC to lay the groundwork and get these younger players to properly buy-in.
Through no direct fault of their own (it starts with QB!), Colts were a bad team this year with DeForest Bucker and Quenton Nelson still here.
However, if you want to talk value and importance, they were an abomination today without them.
They’ll be lucky to win another game.
This sounds more and more like Colts ownership didn’t want to give a 30-year-old Quenton Nelson big money on a mega-extension during a rebuild.
I haven’t heard or seen any indication that he didn’t want to be here anymore.
At this point, the Colts rebuilding plan looks like:
-> Play young guys
-> Bottom out in 2027
-> Get a top pick and get your QB in 2028 NFL Draft
-> Go from there
Chalk me up as one who questions why Colts rushed to get Nelson and Buckner deals done well before the deadline when other sellers are now benefitting off us now reducing the supply with outside suitors still having the demand.
Simmons is a prime example.https://t.co/kVkQuuweih
After talking to several NFL teams and GMs over the last hour, my expectation is the trade deadline will be even crazier than anticipated. Chicago’s all-in move will cause other teams to react and try to be bold as well.
In the words of one source: “All hell is going to break loose over the next week and a half. Get your popcorn ready.”

I said it yesterday, and I'll say it again, but I believe trading Big Q was a mistake for Colts franchise.
Young, rebuilding teams need a few adults in the room, especially one that can't teach them a Hall of Fame standard, work ethic, preparation, etc. https://t.co/XIlcUHsBM2
@Stoppopcountry Nelson had nothing to do with six Week 1 quarterbacks in seven years, which was the main culprit for the lack of team success.
The two times the Colts had good QBs, Luck in 2018 and Rivers in 2020, they made the playoffs both times.
@BigReese42 Right, but the Colts have had good enough teams to make the playoffs more than they did.
The two years they consistently had a good QB in the Ballard era, Luck in 2018 and Rivers in 2020, they made the playoffs both times.
