Bryce Pickford had an amazing season, but Habs fans who see him as a future star should pump the brakes a little bit.
He played in a weaker-than-usual WHL, in his D+2, on one of the highest-scoring teams. I'm looking forward to him in the AHL, but TBD on the NHL.

Necas costs $380K more against the cap next season than Stankoven and Blake combined. Not a knock on Necas, just an illustration of the work Tulsky & Co. have done.
How did Carolina get Jackson Blake, their leading playoff scorer, in the fourth round? I'm told it was their Minnesota-based scout, Eric Fink, who went to bat for Blake. GMs always get the recognition for picks, but lower-profile scouts play major roles in shaping organizations.
Eric Tulsky just won the Cup while his AHL team is in the final. He has four 1st round picks in the next three years.
He has Aho, Jarvis, Ehlers, Stankoven, Blake, Slavin, and Miller all locked up until at least 2031.
Probably should have won GM of the Year
The Carolina Hurricanes didn't have a single player in the top-20 of league scoring this year.
They didn't have a single goaltender finish with a 0.900 save percentage or higher.
Not a single member of the organization was a finalist for any end-of-season awards.
Yet in the end, the Carolina Hurricanes are the 2026 Stanley Cup Champions.
🚨🇩🇪🇷🇺 BIG | Germany is preparing for war with Russia and is voicing threats to occupy the Kaliningrad region if Russia attempts to attack NATO. Presumably, a massive rearmament and preparation effort is underway in the German army, partially with Ukrainian assistance.
"NATO will strike Kaliningrad, the Kola Peninsula, St. Petersburg, and the Black Sea waters in the event of a war with Russia," — Commander of the German Air Force.
Germany is ready to fight against Russia today and will defend every inch of NATO territory, he added.
