I always thought the mission of limiting distance was more about not taking up so much real estate, than it was about shot shaping and creativity. The footprint required to host the best players in the world requires a huge plot of land. My home course was built in 1903. At the very longest, it plays only 6,300 yards. Fun old track, but it could never challenge the pros. We’ve effectively made some of our oldest and best courses obsolete because they don’t have the yardage required to test the best players. To me, this is the best and only argument for limiting distance. What happens when players and equipment continue to evolve and 400+ yard drives become normal?
This was an absolutely electric atmosphere and as fun of a high school sporting event as I’ve ever seen. I want more of this! With USA hockey announcing essentially they’re going to the academy model that soccer uses, and force the best kids to forgo high school hockey, I’m wondering what your thoughts are on that move? My apologies if you’ve already addressed this somewhere and I missed it. Thanks! And congratulations Chaminade! And a huge amount of appreciation and respect to Desmet. I thought they handled what could have been a disaster, extraordinarily well. Speaks volumes about that great program!
Aya! The RedHawks host Kent State today. We wear our jerseys w/ the Myaamia ribbonwork pattern that celebrates how the University and Tribe connect w/ a shared vision, a sense of cooperation & a deep respect for the reciprocal learning that results. Paahpitaawi! #RiseUpRedHawks
@andystrickland He may have "admitted" that to you but I don't believe him. I think he and his agent badly misread the situation and the market. We will for sure miss his talent and he will forever be the first captain to hoist a cup for the STL BLues! GL Petro and thank you!
Went and saw @marknorm at Helium last night. Go see him this weekend... next time he comes to town you won't be able to get tickets! Phenomenal comedian!
Here is my Bob Gibson story.
I ended up sitting next to Gibby at a taping of "Costas Now," as part of Costas' cleanup after the Bissinger incident. He saw the Cards hat I was wearing and said, "I instantly like you." It was a live show, and it was about to start taping. (1/x?)
