Tensions escalated once again in Manipur as fresh firing broke out near Koutruk in Kangchup region under Imphal West district on September 1. As per reports, bombs were dropped by drones in residential areas with visuals showing civilians running for their life as soon as the firing broke out.

Additionally, one woman was killed while her daughter received bullet injuries in the attack. Two police personnel are reported to have been injured in retaliatory firing. The injured personnel were rushed to Raj Medicity in Imphal for treatment.
