The only thing stopping me release my next app is the fact that I’ve tried for a week to record a product demo and still haven’t.
I open my Mac, imagine what I’m going to do and then that’s it.
Any advice to get passed this?
Would you release a product if you knew it had bugs?
I’ve been working on an app for a while and I just want to get it released for feedback. I’ve used the product myself so it’s absolutely functional - I just keep noticing little things that I try to improve each time and I just fear I’m spending time on things that users may just overlook…
Any advice on creating product demos?
I want to create one for a new app I’m releasing but I’m really nervous. At the very least I want to talk through the video but not sure I have the courage for a camera - does this take anything away from the end demo, if I’m not visible?
I’ll be taking on this challenge this year!
I’m aiming to release 10 apps and I’ve started my first build however taken a detour - I’m building a little product to help me speed certain aspects of this challenge up. Once that’s done, progress will resume!
Looking forward to earning some decent MRR this year.
How do you figure out what you actually want to work on?
Run a challenge: ship 8–12 products in a year – and just see what happens
Simple rules:
- every project must be high quality
- projects should be small, but useful
- you must finish the challenge
When it’s over, you won’t just have assets. You’ll have clarity:
- which projects are worth doubling down on
- which ones to shut down or sell
- where your time and energy truly make sense
Sometimes the best way to find direction
is to stop thinking and start building
Has anyone gone through the process of converting their individual apple developer program membership into an organisation membership?
What was the process like, and were your apps unaffected?
I’m considering moving from GitHub copilot in vs code to Claude code, but I like that I can use vs code and a chat window.
Is it possible to use a chat window with Claude code? I’ve seen its in the terminal so weren’t sure if there’s a vs code extension or anything?
Also how long does the Max plan last if you’re typically using it everyday?
Released my 3rd iOS app less than 3 hours ago and already got my first trial user. That has to be the quickest one of my apps has ever found a user let alone a trial!
Going to focus on just ASO with this app and see if I can learn the dark arts.
Ah gotcha! So a new product but a cheaper version? And what about the apple review team - they need to ‘see’ the new product in the app I assume, so how do you publish your new product in order for them to review it…before they’ve approved it? Sorry this part of app development has always seemed like a dark art for me, no idea how it works! Appreciate your response ☺️
@zobeir Holy shit!!🤯 this looks insane. Would love some credits if you’re still giving out! Wonder if I can get my next app live in 2 weeks built purely with anything?!
I need help…
What’s the best way to add/manage Black Friday deals for my iOS app?
Would you create a new subscription specifically for this, and show a specific paywall (I use revenue cat)?
I already have a 3 day free trial so I don’t think I can add another promo, but I don’t want to have to keep updating my app to add/remove different paywalls.
Here’s some of my insights since launching my new iOS app and marketing on TikTok with a fresh account (roughly 4 weeks ago):
- growing an audience on TikTok has been a great success (in my eyes) and I’m very close to 10k followers. Yes I consider this a success ☺️
- most of my posts are focused on growing my audience so it’s not given me great numbers for my app so far (3 total subs: 2 x yearly and 1 x monthly)
- TikTok algorithm is still a mystery but my posts do well and even after a week, one of my posts will get picked up and go ‘viral’ (what numbers do we consider viral?!)
- the most interesting insight I’ve come across is that my posts typically go viral thanks to the South African audience. I’m not using a vpn or anything and I’m posting from the Uk, yet SA make up for nearly 43% of viewers!
So my question to anyone who’s made it this far is, should I localise my app for South Africa and how would I do that?😂
I've been working on an update for my Figma plugin for ages because I couldn't get it quite right, until recently.
Until now - you could upload Figma layers as the screen content on real 3D models: iPhone, iMac, MacBook and iPad.
Now - Dynamic mode: Choose any Figma layer or upload an image to extrude it into a real 3D object.
I use my plugin when creating my App Store screenshot graphics but I really wanted to make 3D text.
Now I can 😊 Releasing this update is a bit of a weight off my shoulders!
Do I give up?
I’ve been posting on TikTok since October to market my app. I have 7.3k followers but my app statistics are awful.
Main CTA is in my TikTok bio but I have been ‘mentioning’ the app in some posts.
If anyone has ideas I’m all ears! I just need to get to 6k revenue (total, not MRR) to consider this a personal success.
Reading this, I tried my best to imagine how you must have felt in the moment and it seems amazing.
I need to focus on my health and turn my life around in a way, and reading your posts are really inspirational and encouraging me to look at my body in a different way. I need to look after it better. Thank you!
Don’t stress too much, 10mins is nothing. The other day one of my posts was at 0 views for over an hour and I thought I was shadow banned. By the end of the day it was at 20k views. Couple days gone by and it’s slowed down but nearly at 60k views now.
I also don’t think it’s a good idea to remove poor performing posts.
