THIS IS NOT TRUE.
Permitted Paid Engagement still works. Tier 5 still works. Not a visa. Work permit. Easy to administer, cheap or even free for most. EU passport holding musicians who come to the UK to work. PLEASE don’t worry. I wish the government knew their policies.
Just heard about these two brilliant ethical search engines. https://t.co/q9nh8orpEK donates 80% profits to tree-planting charities & https://t.co/NKuqeJS6Yx takes plastics out of the sea. Use them!
These are tiny snapshots- I’m not an expert; and I certainly believe economics, emotion and skill are vitally important. But don’t you think science could also be part of our everyday discussions about music and performance, and the value music has to us human beings?
2/2/ Knowledge, expertise, relationships, systems and processes are what drive both organisations and the wider sector. It takes years - decades - to build, and if it goes, it will take a similar length of time to recreate. Looked at like that, to not offer bridge support is mad.
Twice in a day for me. First @mrgrahamross poignant Benediction and now the trascendental, peerless beauty of @JamesEhnes Bach & Ysaye. How I have missed his music making these past months.
It’s worth sharing this message from John Gilhooly @wigmore_hall if you can. If you could tag @OliverDowden in to persuade him and @RishiSunak to think like our cultured European colleagues and inject some serious finanical support NOW, even better. https://t.co/xJcxbnhZu9

"I believe respecting its essential simplicity is the way to make it most accessible. Opera did not start with extravagance. It does not need extravagance. It needs passion." - Mark Wigglesworth writes for @TheStage https://t.co/X0jEVckRp6
