Mohammad Nazeer Paktiawal — who spent a DECADE fighting alongside U.S. Special Forces in Afghanistan — died from a severe allergic reaction less than 24 hours after being taken into ICE custody.

He was just 41.

Mohammad was detained in Texas while his asylum case was still pending. His death was ruled an “accident.”

The death certificate says a severe allergic reaction, commonly triggered by food, drugs, or insect stings, caused a “serious asthma attack that led to his death.”

It also cites methamphetamine (meth) toxicity, heart disease, and smoking as contributing factors.

Mohammad’s family said they never knew him to use methamphetamine and questioned how he could have been exposed to it while in ICE custody. A second autopsy couldn't verify the claim because no blood remained for testing.

His wife also said ICE agents refused to accept his asthma inhaler when he was detained, despite her telling them he needed it.

Mohammad had been evacuated from Afghanistan during the 2021 U.S. withdrawal and legally entered the U.S. before applying for asylum.

This is murder at the hands of our government. It is NOT an accident.
