Climate change is a major threat to our health — and as the biggest employer in the country, we’re part of the problem and the solution. We’re setting up an expert panel to see how and when we could get to net zero — and we need your help! #GreenerNHS 🌍♻️ https://t.co/xFuhCp7RWE
2016 - 2019 Unfortunately, there has been almost no change in the access that stroke patients have to expertise in clinical psychology, although its importance within the stroke multidisciplinary team (RCP Guideline for Stroke 2016) - SSNAP 2019 AOA Report
One of the key requirements is that we first all ask about psychological well-being. All too often one may focus upon physical disablement: failing to appreciate the complex and imperative of mental health to rehabilitation & well being. Message from patients: #thelivedexperience

Loving the opportunity to chat to patients and their families about their experience with the Stroke Service as part of an improvement project. A patient told me today that the team are ‘the best thing since sliced bread’ 😍 @LucySpring4
So proud of all the hard work going into the improvement project at South Petherton Stroke rehab unit. The nursing and therapy teams are working with such energy and enthusiasm to be one integrated team to give our stroke patients the best opportunities to recover - amazing!

Honoured to be at @MusgrovePark @SomParNHS our people awards 2019, every member of the stroke team at South Petherton has been nominated by a patient for the #patientchoiceaward. Completely touched. Good luck to everybody! The buzz in the room is incredible.
Rehabilitation in the UK is not thriving. At BSRM/SRR (Bristish Society of Rehabilitation Medicine and Society for Research in Rehabilitation) Warwick meeting I suggested a political way forward. The arguments are shown here. May or may not be relevant elsewhere.
A really interesting and important observational study, definitely worth a read and further discussion amongst our HASU team. Clinically a question we come up with all the time - SSNAP requires cog assessment but not everyone is testable @drjkwan @EmPlayfair @GJenschPsych
Simon Stevens: On the topic of the day, the NHS belongs to everybody, I am formally asking leaders across the NHS to make Brexit operational planning the highest priority over the next two months. #Expo19NHS
#HomeFirst is 2 today, but there are still some people who may not be aware of the amazing things they do to help people home. The team from @SomParNHS, @MusgrovePark, @SomersetCouncil & @YeovilHospital helped put together this video to explain!

Lovely comment from a patient of our #NHS stroke service at South Petherton:
"You lot really make a difference. I even can remember when the cleaning staff cheered me up one morning when I was down, so when I say everyone I mean everyone!"
Returning to work is a big step following brain injury. It's up to you how much you share but good communication with employers and colleagues may make the process easier. Find our more about returning to work here: https://t.co/Le52QELxEk
@LaurenJChristie presenting preliminary results of the ACTiveARM project. Results show a significant increase in CIMT being offered and delivered and improved outcomes in stroke survivors across inpatient and outpatient settings #OTAUS2019
Last weekend I made an easy read display about Occupational Therapy and the OT Process to demonstrate my understanding of our patients' needs and the role of OT in my placement setting (LD/MH). Couldn't resist a timelapse ...! @DerbyOT@DerbyOTsociety@RCOTStudents
