I hate this trope in media of alternative people being taught how to be normal - like Allison in breakfast club. Not just because it reinforces the idea that conformity is best but because it's stupid - Alt and queer people aren't actually trying to conform to your standards.
The people who make these, seem to think people like Allison were aiming at traditional feminity and failed, like that haircut and those clothes and acting the way she does were her genuine best trys at fitting in.
