In the midst of thousands more sexual abuse cases involving children at the hands of the Catholic Church in Ireland, I once again ask why the fuck do people still baptise their children into this organisation?
Stop having communions/confirmations too.
It's fucking bizarre.
Hi @fruitshootdrink
I can't return fruit shoot bottles per the ROI return deposit scheme. I pay 15c deposit on each bottle, and buy 24 bottles a week, so €3.60, but the machines do not seem to want to take the empty bottles. As you can see they are perfect. Any advice??
No doubt you'll be seeing this a bunch today. Two thoughts. First it really speaks to the safety/surveillance of vaccines that something occuring 1 in 1,113,000 doses is being captured and acted upon. Second, your odds of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 500,000.
Whenever I see people talking about the “skyrocketing” rates of people saying that they’re trans, I think of this chart. They used to punish children for being left-handed and force them to write with their right hand. Guess what happened after that stopped?
@newschambers If they pay the fine are they free to go or must they pay the fine AND return to the hotel immediately? Silly question I know but I don't put anything past the govt at the moment 🙄
Ireland’s slowness to do anything meaningful to stop people landing in the country is perplexing given its people are living through one of the harshest lockdowns there is.
1/2 On the eve of #IWD2021 I'm reflecting on the time when the MD told me he didn't mind if I was planning to take annual leave during a major project kick-off as long as I didn't get pregnant (!!) and after a 1:1 where I expressed concerns about my workload, which were
2/2 promptly dismissed, he asked me if I had anything else on my mind "besides being a woman." (?!) Unfortunately I didn't take any actuoj because it was his word against mine and the culture wasn't exactly conducive to reporting such asshattery.
