New: From creativity to creating

In this chapter, I argue for a shift from a logic fixated upon outcomes and the innovative ideas purported to precede them, to one that appreciates processes that are always unfolding - moving from creativity, to creating
Happy to contribute to chapter 6 on “Creativity-enhancing Approaches in the Coaching of Children in Sport: Present and Future Directions” with @nielsrossing
Really excited to see they finally have the cover image for the @rhccis “Handbook of Coaching Children in Sport” added! @RuthJeanes

Det er vinter, og pga corona-nedlukning vil mange fodboldspillere være nødt til at selvtræne. Vi har samlet en række guides og en artikel skrevet af @LudvigTorp om selvtræning med høj kvalitet. Se mere her: https://t.co/Z4jpU7kU3y #fodbold#træning#viden
Do you believe in conditions and/or coincidence? Talent development as a matter of being at the right place at the right time. Nice work @nielsrossing and friends! https://t.co/JmAK3lDBmn
Happy to contribute with a chapter to this new book, with many insights for those interested in team work; A big thumbs up to Vlad Glaveanu & Johanne Ingunn Ness for the excellent collaboration.

Julian Nagelsmann is 33.
He’s never “been there, done that”.
He never even played a senior game.
There’s a narrative in pro sports that players won’t respect a coach unless they’ve played at the level, or spent decades in the coaching system.
It’s all BS.
Today a young player stated that his club coach did not allow him to dribble in games. The player was of primary school age. The player also possessed high amounts of creativity and imagination.
To me, shutting this down is nigh on criminal.
Hvordan definerer man egentlig kreativitet i fodbold? Det har Ph.D. Ludvig Rasmussen forsket i, og i dette indlæg præsenterer han en gennemgang af tre studier, hvor han har undersøgt kreativitetens rolle i fodbold. https://t.co/mMKfuqwyzY #sldk
New paper out today!
What is creativity, why is it important and how is it developed in football?
Danish coaches have a lot of interesting ideas, that may nuance the dialogue about the meaning, benefit and application of creativity in sport:

@JimiVaughan@ben_galloway8@Jaime__Sampaio@skillacq@Lwennberg@stu_arm@markstkhlm@DHrtin@uppy01 Indeed. And openness may be trained by means of explorative creativity in a safe training environment. But often "unexpectedness" has different meanings.
Unexpected for whom?!
- the player, who utilizes unplanned opportunities?
- the defender, who is surprised?
- the observers?
@JimiVaughan@ben_galloway8@Jaime__Sampaio@skillacq@Lwennberg@stu_arm@markstkhlm@DHrtin@uppy01 Absolutely historically creative - and Big-C since kids are trying to replicate. Agree that the adaptation of action potentials to other situations is a kind of creativity, if it was an unusual action for Bolasie in that situation. Not sure about the criteria of "unexpectedness".
@JimiVaughan@ben_galloway8@Jaime__Sampaio@skillacq@Lwennberg@stu_arm@markstkhlm@DHrtin@uppy01 Enjoyed revisiting. Neatly captures different kinds of creativity. The playful exploration of unusual action possibilities is often ignored, but this is often where the initial originality occur. In the game, Bolasie surprises opponents and appears creative, but is that creative?
