One of my proudest moments: a talk with UCSF's Dr. Sue Carlisle, ex-officio Dean for Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, about her pathway to leadership. Super inspirational. @CSAHQ#CSAVitalTimesPodcast

The greatest risk to your health under anesthesia is typically anesthesia.
With ME and LC, you may have a tougher recovery and symptom flare.
But this is a risk assessment discussion, not risk avoidance.
Here's my advice, as an anesthesiologist and someone with LC...🧵
Shay’s story is amazing; the persistence, resilience and creativeness required to forge ahead - with some timely mentoring - are what stand out for me. Please watch, or listen. And be inspired! @ASAMonitor@ASALifeline
In this episode of the CSA podcast, @Shayy.Taylor reflects on the milestone of matching at Yale School of Medicine and the unique connection she has to the institution.
Listen to her story and insights on the road to becoming an anesthesiologist.

@Ritaagarwal6 It would have to be ultra secure data, though.
It would be so easy for health insurance companies, for example, to stratify risk and premium costs, based on someone’s frailty index
so excited about the opportunity to delve into utilizing intraoperative EEG monitoring to impact postoperative cognitive function after general anesthesia. Delirium? Dementia? The future is now for high-level anesthesia interventions.
New #podcast episode: Clinician-scientists Drs. Jamie Sleigh and Elizabeth Whitlock discuss the utilization of intraoperative EEG monitoring and its potential role in affecting postoperative delirium and neurological outcomes. Listen here: https://t.co/gMNU4c2wMq.
@cbrennansports yes.
in order to participate in USTA (United States Tennis Association) governance, I was required to do Safe Sport training. I feel like it's all a sham, then? - concepts like sexual abuse, coercion, retaliation, bullying? I thought those are absolutely not condoned.
Nearly half of the people taking semaglutide still had food in their stomach before surgery.
These results show that people taking semaglutide may have a higher risk during surgery.
Using stomach ultrasound can help doctors plan safer anaesthesia for each patient.

people debate whether Medicine is a "calling" or a "profession". Well, I do think Physicians have a higher responsibility - one that they swore to when they graduated - and once that trust is lost via hucksterism and capitalist greed, one doesn't get to go back.
Good that you posted a response, Peter. Agree, there is no defense for the now public and egregious interactions you had with Epstein.
But the man you are today vs 10 years ago has not changed w/r to arrogance. Moreover, these days you are riddled with conflicts as a huckster for David Bars, AG-1 supplement, and so many other things that diminish your credibility. That's a shame.
@Rainmaker1973 why would you amplify misleading claims like this. Lots of women out there are dying from breast cancer, no matter how much "clean living" they do. I hope you can sleep at night knowing you are preying on their emotional vulnerabilities.
@PHShriver@MattFutterman@TheAthletic Ben and Trinity both proudly talk the conservative talk that has gotten the USA into the state it's in currently. So, no, his ascension at AO does not help me to temporarily forget my heartaches about my country. Thanks.
@soledadobrien This feels like a moment from “Lord of the Rings”. It’s time to call up the courage that we don’t think we possess, for the sake of our future.
@karagoucher it makes me so angry. why do a sport and not respect the integrity intrinsic to pursuing excellence?
and... heartbroken about Minneapolis. So much anger and meanness in this world.
