@GumiSamaVT People: I really hate video games that "license" the game.
Not wise artist: Teehee, shouldnt we copy that really bad phliosphy and "license" out our art pieces that are created custom per person? Wouldnt that be great?
@ReQ_LuC@Olamilekan4275 People are legitimately mad at Eris for her being stupid. Which is the biggest waste of energy anyone can have over someone being stupid.
The "contextless" is the issue. She didnt give context because she is bad at communication. Why are you treating it differently?
@WW92030@MizusPuddle Agreed. And at the very least, it should.
My point of posting was just sharing a perspective I didnt have before, thats all.
I dont entirely agree with how ky friend sees it. But it is worth pointing out.
@MizusPuddle except reelection, no matter what party they are affiliated with.
Ive just come to accept that its a losing battle. But ive kept my job and will keep doing so, thankfully.
Again- Im not saying I agree. I'm just sharing a perspective from someone who does coding as a living.
@MizusPuddle Its not my personal argument, but places where code is posted online to be used by the public would make it a functional difference, legally.
If congress wasnt such a waste, thry could be investigating and making laws about it but they really aren't interested in anything-
@MizusPuddle different from the type of data scraping done on peoples art.
I'm not saying its right, but it really seems like the coding culture and art culture see AI usage differently.
But thats just what ive experienced from my friend and other people who work doing coding.
@MizusPuddle I dont like AI, especially the image generating side of it.
But I stopped saying anything about code because its different. Friend of mine works high up doing coding and explained that a lot of repositories are public and expected to be used, even via data scraping. Which is-
@ReQ_LuC@Olamilekan4275 Its stated, repeatedly, that she is shitty at communication /and/ is kind of too stupid to realize that she is. Thats a major point of the character. And man, look, if you can't see what's obvious to the average viewer maybe anime isnt for you or something. Holy leedles.
@Punisherx6 Thats what has been explained to me about it. Especially too, since a lot of the data scraping used data thats available for public use.
You wrote my stance better than I could articulate. Thank you.
@KanikouEstellia adding, ya know what I mean?
Everything from them that ive seen is that "some" is being used. That reads to me like its probably minimal work being done.
Which happens a lot with non-vibe coded stuff, too.
I bet you still have a discord account or a PlayStation one. Both of them have issues with that often enough.
Sorry for rt, I got blocked for being perfectly kind and open.
@LufiaRin@inkedwhite That's cool, but vibecoding has almost always led to your data being leaked and at worst, compromised. Censorship is annoying, but being a victim of vibecoding is worse.
@KanikouEstellia peoples government IDs. People still keep going to PlayStation despite the hacks and financial losses they let happen and both aren't vibe coded.
And for all we know, they are doing very basic vibe coding to save time and still having real programmers go over what they are-
My understanding, is that a lot of data used for training data, is taken from libraries and stuff that are open sourced and offered to he used by others.
I'm not saying I dont believe you, either.
Sorry for rt, I was blocked despite being kind and being open to changing my -
@LufiaRin@inkedwhite I don't really know what your friends think, but mine feel the opposite. Programmers are also losing their jobs and having their work stolen by AI.
