[🗝 Stray Kids Comeback Guide & THAT @SKZCBGuide]

While we do not normally make our personal stance on topics like this public, we are going to make an exception this time.

After our team spent hours creating graphics, researching information, and putting together a detailed breakdown of how Japanese comebacks work—and then sharing it across six platforms to encourage STAYs to support and enjoy the upcoming Japanese release—we were extremely disappointed to be sent content from a large TikTok creator describing SKZ’s Japanese comebacks as “gatekeepy” and, in our opinion, actively discouraging their followers from participating in or enjoying the comeback.

What is even more frustrating is the amount of misinformation being presented alongside that narrative.

So, since our entire purpose as a team is to provide STAYs with accurate comeback information, let’s clear a few things up.

🇯🇵 There are 12 versions of the album available outside of the Japan Fanclub-exclusive versions.

International STAYs are not limited to purchasing expensive fanclub editions. There are multiple standard versions available, with album prices comparable to Korean releases, and there are reliable retailers offering worldwide shipping. Depending on your country and the number of albums ordered, there are also ways to make international shipping considerably more affordable.

🇯🇵 Yes, some Japanese promotional content does not receive official English subtitles.

However, the content is subtitled in Japanese, SKZ’s Japanese MVs include subtitles on their official YouTube channel, and there are numerous translation and content accounts within the fandom that work incredibly hard to make Japanese content accessible to I-STAYs.

Is accessibility for international fans perfect? No. But presenting an entire Japanese comeback as something intentionally “gatekept” from international fans is misleading and unnecessarily discouraging—especially when so many J-STAYs, translators, fanbases, and content accounts work hard to bridge that gap.

Japanese releases are structured differently from Korean releases. Different market, different industry, different distribution systems, different promotional strategies. Different does not automatically mean exclusionary.

And when you have built a large, monetized platform around “informing Baby STAYs,” we believe there is a responsibility to make sure the information being given to those Baby STAYs is accurate before presenting something as fact.

We sincerely hope that in the future this creator takes the time to research Japanese releases more thoroughly before discouraging newer STAYs from participating in them.

And while we are making suggestions: perhaps use some of that reach from time to time to teach Baby STAYs about proper streaming and voting that actually contributes to Stray Kids’ success.

And no—we are not talking about fake, clickbait “awards” and meaningless polls on random websites.

We mean the real voting, streaming, charting, and comeback support that actually matters.

J-STAYs deserve to enjoy their comeback.

I-STAYs are absolutely welcome to enjoy it with them.

And we will continue doing everything we can to make sure Global STAYs have the information and resources they need to do exactly that.

The doctor who delivered Dolly Parton in a one-room Tennessee cabin in 1946 was paid with a sack of cornmeal. Her father farmed other people's land and could not read or write. Eighty years later, the reading program she built in his name has mailed more than 300 million books.

She wrote "I Will Always Love You" on the same afternoon she wrote "Jolene," as a goodbye to Porter Wagoner, and released it in 1974. Elvis wanted it. The night before the session, Colonel Tom Parker called and said Presley would only record it if they got half the publishing, meaning half of everything the song ever earned. She had been in Nashville ten years by then. She said no, and cried all night. Whitney Houston cut her version in 1992, held number one for fourteen weeks, and Forbes later put Parton's royalties from it near $10 million. She put some of that money into an office complex in Nashville and called the place the house that Whitney built.

Dollywood opened in Pigeon Forge in 1986 because she wanted paychecks in the county she came from. Around 4,000 people work there now. Three million visitors come every year. The University of Tennessee put its economic impact at $1.8 billion, and it is the largest employer in Sevier County. Since 2022 the company has paid tuition, fees, and books in full for every worker from their first day, seasonal hires included.

Wildfires tore through those mountains in November 2016, killing fourteen people and destroying more than 2,400 buildings. Her foundation was handing out money within 48 hours. Every family that lost a home got $1,000 a month for six months, regardless of income. The final check was $5,000. Total delivered: $8.9 million.

In April 2020 she sent $1 million to Vanderbilt for coronavirus research. When Moderna's vaccine results ran in the New England Journal of Medicine that November, her fund appeared in the footnotes.

Carl Dean, her husband of nearly sixty years, died in March 2025. The note she wrote to fans afterward ended with the same five words she wrote for Porter Wagoner back in 1974. She died in Nashville today. Her family asked that instead of flowers, people give to the Imagination Library, which still mails 3.4 million books a month to children who will never get to meet her.
