@Arch_KE That was a wrong presumption of including Landscape Architects in the bill, without involving them in the discussion @Muchiri Waititu. As Arch. Kigada mentioned, there is need to have clear definition of terms and roles.
We have officially submitted our professional concerns regarding the Architects Bill, 2026 to the National Assembly. While we support regulation, the current draft presents significant risks to the Landscape Architecture profession.
Yesterday at WUF, IFLA & UN-Habitat signed an MoU marking an important milestone where landscape architects get added to the UN-Habitat portfolio, and most importantly become a core part of the critical discussions and decisions that affect our built environment.
Before y'all call it a day, let's push this one last time!

@Arch_KE To Tina, with the increase of foreign consultants and contractors from Western countries, are there guidelines that restrict the scope of projects being done by international consultants such that other projects are left to the local consultants?
@Arch_KE Maybe the speakers could highlight policies related to cross border education/ studies related to the built profession. How easy/difficult is it to take up studies in Rwanda and Uganda
