هربت من جحيم القصف الذي ضرب جوار خيمتها باحثة عن الأمان، لتختبئ في حضن والدتها داخل الخيمة، فوقع القدر لتسقط في طنجرة طعام مغلي كانت تعدها الأم لعائلتها النازحة.
مكثت الطفلة إيلين العطار أكثر من شهر كامل بين الحياة والموت داخل العناية المركزة، وبعد خروجها، بات جسدها الصغير يصارع آلاماً لا تُحمل؛ حيث يغطي جسدها اللحم الوحشي والجروح المفتوحة وسط انعدام تام لأبسط أنواع الأدوية، والمراهم، والعلاجات الطبية لتخفيف وجعها وإغلاق جروحها.
