African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Amb. @Bankole_Adeoye informed the 1341st Session of the #AUPSC on Peace Support Operations in Africa that AU #PSOs, designed to achieve peacekeeping objectives, currently face significant gaps in capacity, coordination, legitimacy, rapid deployment, and sustainable funding.
He emphasized that rapidly evolving conditions necessitate a critical review of the #AU’s engagement in peace support operations to ensure it can effectively adapt to current realities.
