🚨🔵Zinedine Zidane on Eden Hazard’s career:
“Sometimes I feel a sense of guilt that I may have had a negative impact on Hazard’s career, even though the injuries were things I could never control. Maybe if he had never changed his environment, things would have been different. But that’s easy to say looking back.”
“When Hazard was at Chelsea, I genuinely wanted to sit down and watch Premier League games because of him.”
“He was one of those players who could make you stop whatever you were doing just to watch him. He was special, one of a kind, and that’s why the way his career ended will always feel painful.”
Genuinely funny how even in by far his worst prime season, being forced to play through injury, you’ll only find footage like this. Despite Twitter ppl preaching “worst season ever” I’ve yet to see a 15/16 fail comp in my 8 years on FT. If these performance levels are the absolute worst my player has to offer then you know what’s up. Realistically speaking the injury heavily affected his finishing with the rest still being quite alright (in combination with our whole team having a crisis), which was evident by his amazing comeback from April 2016 onwards after he was finally allowed to recover, but most ppl didn’t watch us to actually know.
Reece James’s loan spell at Wigan remains the most obvious example of a player who’s far too good for the league he’s playing in.
Was simultaneously our best right back, centre back and central midfielder, sometimes in the same game #wafc#cfc
British fighter jets flying over Cyprus, by far the most outstanding camera work I have ever seen. If carlsberg made cameraman he would probably be the best cameraman in the world
