@SylaannK @GeneFrienby Exactly. Also if someone gives you a really cool sword and it ends up being worse than your current gear the second you level up.
And your witcher gear becoming worse and worse in the end game with each lvl you get above 40

thats neither fun nor immersive. So why is it here???

@SylaannK @GeneFrienby I would prefer for a series like witcher that you dont learn abilities a witcher already should have but instead can learn some new stuff (like the crossbow in w3) and that you get better by finding better gear.
that combined with the player getting better should be the progress

@SylaannK @GeneFrienby It made sense for him to relearn everything (even signs) in w1 with the memory loss and in w3 you basically already start at peak geralt but especially w2 there is the odd one out. there geralt just feels really weak compared to the stuff he did at the end of w1

@SylaannK @GeneFrienby the game as a small quest so people who played through witcher 1 and brought their save get a prologue with very strong weapons and a quest at the end to get them back. that way they still can be strong as they should be

similiar how geralt loses aerondight between w2 and w3

@SylaannK @GeneFrienby I dont think that would be the right way to deal with it, since the sihil and aerondight especially are known as legendary weapons that never need sharpening

But in the prologue you end in prison. Just let someone steal the swords and you're able to get them back at the end of

Importing skills and equipments between games is cool but if you have stuff like that, it needs to be scaled right
