That’s essentially what this statement from West Yorkshire Police says.

Today, our thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of PC Charlie Mitchell of West Yorkshire Police. A 26-year-old officer whose body was located having gone missing.

The force’s post reads like a corporate incident report. Cold and clinical.

There is no “we’ve lost one of our own.”
There is zero warmth or compassion.
Just… “a serving officer has been found dead.”

Would you write something like that if it were your brother? Your son? Your friend?

This isn’t just about one post. It’s about what it says about policing as a whole right now. A profession where burnout is normal. Where people suffer in silence and the culture often lacks the very humanity we’re sworn to protect.

RIP Charlie.

This one is very hard for us as we know this lovely boy, Lady B has even taken a bite from him in the ring at @Crufts…

RPD Glen recently retired from @WMPDogs having served for 8 years with @WMPolice, and with great distinction.

Just lately, Glen has been experiencing seizures. And this week he had five in a row, deeply distressing for him and his frantic family.

For those of you who know, when a dog has a seizure, it uses up the equivalent energy it would take us to run a marathon. It is EXHAUSTING and to have that many, in quick succession, has been unbelievably traumatic for this hero of a German Shepherd.

His dad has been worried sick, and sadly it looks as if there is a serious problem within his brain.

We are devastated too. But our job is to help, and it has been a privilege to cover the vets fees for his lengthy tests and medication to control these awful episodes.

Please hold RPD Glen in your thoughts, he will be kept as comfortable as possible for as long as possible, and we will be there, with your help, every step of the way.

This is what we do and we are beyond proud to support our friend RPD Glen and his family through a truly awful time.

Lots of love to you, Glen. It’s our turn now to protect you, our protector. 💜

Yesterday we were honoured to have been contacted by PD Zyla's handler who requested that she'd like any donations in memory of PD Zyla from Leicestershire Police who sadly died in the line of duty this week, to be gifted to our foundation. Her request was so that Zyla's memory will live on through our work, supporting heroic retired police dogs from across the UK. 🛑Breaking News🛑 | Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Police Officer Is Seriously Assaulted

An Essex Police officer is recovering from serious neck injuries after being viciously assaulted in the early hours of Saturday in Canvey Island, prompting a major investigation and an arrest for attempted murder.

At around 04:00 hours, residents of First Avenue called 999 [ @EPControlRoom ], reporting a commotion. Responding to the call, officers encountered a violent scene, resulting in serious harm to one of their own. The injured officer was promptly rushed to hospital for urgent care.

In swift response to the incident, a 45-year-old man has been detained under the suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.

As the inquiry intensifies, Essex Police have cordoned off the area where the attack took place. Officers are expected to maintain a significant presence as they work to piece together the events leading up to the assault.

The police are calling on the community for assistance, seeking witnesses and anyone in possession of potentially crucial CCTV or doorbell camera footage. If you have information that could aid Essex Police, you are encouraged to come forward and quote incident number 192 of 4 November in your report.

@EssexPoliceUK have provided several avenues for the public to submit their reports. An online report can be filed, or residents can engage with the force via their Live Chat service, which is available from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on public holidays.

To access Live Chat, visitors can click on the icon located at the bottom right of the Essex Police website, which is compatible with various devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Detective Chief Superintendent Andrew Waldie said:

“We are taking this assault extremely seriously, and it is totally unacceptable one of our officers had their life put in danger whilst trying to keep the public safe.

“I’m pleased to say the officer has been discharged from hospital, and we are supporting him whilst he recovers.

“The arrested man remains in custody and we reassure the public that there is no risk as a result of this incident.”
