@JordiCarSeries@DraytonKnowles At least someone remembers Lando doing the supercars stuff and everyone finding it funny, yet when it's the other way around it's an excuse to send death threats..
Holy wheel knowledge unlocked
@matoxley You're probably bang on, but Liberty are all about the show even when rules get thrown out the window.. Just look how far the F1 rule book has been stretched 🤷♀️
@Johnvander46560@CadeCad84010759@AntonioSabatoJr And again, it's the 3rd race of the new rules, nobody fully understands how to get the most of the cars.. I'm sure things will be wildly different come Abu Dhabi
@Johnvander46560@CadeCad84010759@AntonioSabatoJr Just pointing out similarities it's one of the "greatest" eras.. Just look at the ground effects regs - the racing for the first 2.5 years was absolutely dreadful, come 2024/5, we had great races most weeks.
It'll take time for everyone to understand how to get the best out
@Johnvander46560@CadeCad84010759@AntonioSabatoJr F1 has always been about the fastest car, even since day 1. Lift and coast is nothing new. Drivers in the late 80s were driving around 30 seconds a lap slower to ensure they actually finished due to fuel flow restrictions..
It's race 3, drivers and teams will learn as it goes
@Magnum_Tom5@IamTethark@cytrusf1 We'll just have to agree to disagree.. We won't see any improvement in racing as we'll end up with 22 car long "straight line mode" DRS trains, but perhaps that's just me being cynical..
Enjoy the season..
@Magnum_Tom5@IamTethark@cytrusf1 Yeah, the wing that opens exactly the same as the new amazing active aero. Agreed that the rules behind it are slightly different, but the actual device itself is literally identical my friend.
A rear wing that opens to reduce drag..
@Magnum_Tom5@IamTethark@cytrusf1 I understand how DRS works and how the active aero works. But considering the rear wing opens identically to DRS, it's literally DRS with extra steps..
When I say the word "DRS", you know I'm not referring to S ducts
@IamTethark@Magnum_Tom5@cytrusf1 So let me get this straight.. a mechanism that opens the rear wing identically to DRS is absolutely NOT DRS?
It is just a different system that happens to do exactly the same thing?
@Magnum_Tom5@cytrusf1 So let me get this straight.. a wing that opens identically to DRS and 50% of its use is to reduce drag isn't, as I put it, "DRS with extra steps"?
