Sometimes I take a little solace in the knowledge that climate deniers will be remembered as liars, conmen, and fools.
But then I remember that most history is very low-resolution so, actually, they won’t be remembered at all and that’s even better.
Some top deathbed regrets.
I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
I wish I didn’t work so hard.
I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
I wish I let myself be happier.
@SawyerMerritt@elonmusk Public investment in science & infrastructure has delivered far more long-term value than one guy’s stock portfolio. The ‘$40B savings’ is fanfic and Musk’s empire got billions in subsidies/tax credits too. Stop the trillionaire worship.
@SawyerMerritt@elonmusk Conveniently ignores that government funding built the foundations: NASA contracts literally saved SpaceX early on, DARPA created the internet, GPS, and mRNA tech precursors, NIH funds the medical breakthroughs, and the Interstate Highway System + rural electrification.
Being unhealthy is painful, being healthy is painful, having no relationships is painful, having relationships is painful, being lazy is painful, working really hard is painful. It's just different flavors of pain.
So you might as well pick the flavors of pain that are gonna help you and give you a better set of life.
@GuntherEagleman@uncensoreddotai Look I can make it contradict itself. I’m assuming you’ll just pick the one you want to be true as evidence and then remain stupid?
@GuntherEagleman@uncensoreddotai Ai chat bots can be told to write anything and will write anything with no verification. If you actually believe this is evidence for this claim you are absurdly stupid.
@GuntherEagleman Mr. Freedom is not so free now. Pretty weak if you let a piece of cloth burning hurt your little feelings. Don’t ever claim 1st amendment support again.
