Planet Earth is 4.5 billion years old. I'll be alive for 90 years max. That means I'd have lived through 0.000002% of Planet Earth's existence, and I've had to live at the same time as Lee Dixon. Really doesn't seem fair.
I understand the emotion around a huge penalty decision in a massive game. Football does that to people.
But at some point emotion has to give way to evidence. When freeze frames, angles and clear contact are sitting right in front of us, denying it because it doesnโt suit your team or narrative just kills any honest debate.
Whatโs even worse is when professionals and pundits, who know the game inside out, deliberately drive a narrative to suit an agenda rather than analyse whatโs actually in front of them. That only fuels tribalism and misinformation.
You can debate consistency. You can debate interpretation. But you canโt just ignore unrefutable evidence because itโs inconvenient. Football discussion is far better when honesty matters more than point scoring.
@talkSPORT@rioferdy5 backing Carrick because Man U were 15th when he took over from Amorim. They were actually 6th. These experts need fact checking and calling out when so incredibly wrong. @andygoldstein05
