My train from Plymouth to London had to return after the windscreen wiper was damaged at Ivybridge.
Annoying but given the bad weather I really do want the train driver to be able to see out of their window when driving. Train manager v good with passengers. Thank you @gwr_help
.@Babcockplc has opened a new Skills Centre at Devonport Dockyard and broken ground on an Integrated Logistics Hub at Sherford (Just east of Plymouth) to further support Royal Navy submarine fleet.
The Skills Centre, formally opened by @LukePollard can support up to 1,500 technical staff and apprentices each year. It will provide practical training close to operational work at Devonport and help develop the specialist skills required across the defence workforce.
The new logistics hub at Sherford, within the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport, will create additional capacity for submarine maintenance, helping Babcock make better use of space across the Devonport estate while strengthening support for current and future submarine programmes.
This major investment will streamline support for the Royal Navy, secure skilled local jobs, and ensure our dockyard remains at the heart of national defence.
Great to join Rebecca Smith MP and Fred Thomas MP and Babcock today for the groundbreaking of their new Integrated Logistics Hub in Plymouth🏗️⚓
When we put party politics aside to champion Plymouth together as #TeamPlymouth, our city wins.

I visited @BAESystemsplc in Warton yesterday to see how defence companies are creating opportunities in every postcode for the almost 1 million young people not in work, education or training.
This is reindustrialisation in action.
Great to visit Plymouth Community Homes’ Bath Street site today to see progress on 80 brand-new social rented homes!🏗️🏡
This scheme is transforming a key brownfield site between the city centre and Millbay into a sustainable neighbourhood for Plymouth families.
While the Police are in the early stages of their investigation, I would ask you to avoid speculation. I am assured that the Police will provide updates when they can.
There is a very serious situation unfolding on The Hoe and I know that people will be feeling concerned. I have spoken to the Police Commander and would encourage anyone with any information to come forward.
Great to visit Unity Park Bowls Green recently with Cllr Pauline Murphy!🎳
Plymouth’s connection to bowls goes back centuries to Sir Francis Drake, and it’s brilliant to see the sport still bringing the community together in Efford today.
Thank you for the warm welcome!
In fairness to Nigel, they do both start with 'P' and have boats. But if you’re going to pop down to Britain's Ocean City to tell us how to run the country, standard protocol is to check the name of the city first... 📍
(Volume up for the classic Plymouth welcome! 🔊)
Huge turn out of councillors and @PlymouthLabour volunteers for this morning’s canvass in Peverell supporting @PeverellSarah.
Plymouth Labour campaigns all year round not just at elections 🌹

Labour knocks on doors all year round not just at elections 🌹
I’ve been working with @LukePollard since March to secure two Defence Technical Colleges for Scotland.
Now we know we’ve been successful in that goal.
The commitment the Scottish Government has now given - to accept our offer and match fund the colleges - is welcome news.
It was great to meet with my German counterpart Jens Plötner in London today.
Germany is one of our closest and most valued defence partners, and today’s talks demonstrate our determination to turn that industrial ambition into real capability for both our nations.
