In my lifetime:
2006 - Terrible performance and lost on pens in QF with a ‘golden generation’
2008 - didn’t even qualify
2010 - limped thru groups then hammered by Germans in RO16
2014 - Managed a 0-0 draw against Costa Rica and that was it. Seriously.
2016 - Knocked out by ICELAND.
Now winning the group unbeaten gets a negative reaction? Crazy.
Separated from his wife after 13 years together.
Battled through it in silence while scoring the winner at the London Stadium to help Arsenal overcome West Ham.
Now, he's carrying Belgium through the World Cup as a Premier League Champion 👏

#Arsenal had to watch talents like Cole, Adebayor, Nasri, Hleb, Van Persie, Fabregas, Song, and more go to clubs where they felt they could win the biggest trophies. We are now Premier League champions and we have the pull of the clubs who used to take from us. Get used to it.
"Make no mistake, Arsenal was always my club. I used to head up to Highbury from Lambeth but couldn’t afford to pay to get in, so I would sneak in when they opened the gates 20 minutes before the end of the game."
Remembering Kevin Campbell who sadly died, two years ago today.
