Only early on, but Cooper Trembath should get plenty of kudos for how he’s started his career. 17 goals in his first 7 games and looks every bit a dangerous key forward at AFL level. #AFLNorthBlues
Hey @kayosports, any chance of your app not shitting the bed any time anyone wants to use it? Have tried to watch it 4 times in the since the start of the year and has stopped working every time
@ManUtd Bunch of losers. We have a side that don’t know how to win, even when the ideal situations are handed to us on a silver platter. Another opportunity to go into the top 5 wasted against a team below us on the table. Embarrassing
Steven May spraying his captain after the siren is exactly why he isn’t in the leadership group at Melbourne, and why he isn’t respected by most. Support your team mate at the time and discuss the kick afterwards. Extremely poor but also completely unsurprising. #AFLDeesPies
The carry on from David King is very ordinary. I’d have thought the momentum Geelong had in the last quarter came from being +15 at contest rather than the umpiring. The old adage of if you’re first to the ball, the umpiring takes care of itself rings true. #AFLPiesCats
@MHatzoglou@FOXFOOTY I think we can agree that for reasons relating to the game itself it could be reviewed, however I’d suggest the onus is on fans and the media to understand the rules of the game they’re following or covering rather than the AFL to review rules for that purpose.
@MHatzoglou@FOXFOOTY You’ve deliberately misrepresented what he said. That has always been the rule. Whether we agree with it (I don’t) is another conversation. A problem in itself is a decent % of the football public & media don’t actually understand the rules of the game they follow or report on.
Cooper Keogh would definitely be deserving of an opportunity. Move to Coburg in 2024 has bought opportunity and he’s looked very good, particularly to start 2025.
26 years old and would be ready to go. Something Essendon are going to be in desperate need of.
#VFL#AFLDraft
Mid-season draft can’t come soon enough for Essendon. Ruck options in Coburg’s Cooper Keogh and Southport’s Brayden Crossley will be high on that list. May 28 still six games away though
Henry Hunt, one of the in-form openers in the #SheffieldShield this season has made 506 @ 50.6 for SA.
493 of those runs (including 3 tons) have been made in the first innings at an avg of 98.6. His second innings avg is 2.6
A strange quirk in a very good start to the season.
@rileynelson___ If you’re picking Holmes, it’s at half back, and you’re definitely not picking him ahead of the other half backs. From r10, played inside mid/half back (at least 40% CBA in 9/14 games). Wing would’ve been his 3rd position, so if you’re picking a second wingman, it’s Massimo.
@ColonelEgbert@TimKemm@sammydaddo 2/2 In this case, Menzie is facing out the far side, assesses his options and makes the decision to step back towards goal. My take is if he has enough time to do that, he has enough time and space to dispose of the ball, rather than rush it through.
@ColonelEgbert@TimKemm@sammydaddo 1/2 Not sure there’s a black and white definition of time and space, but I’d say being close to another player isn’t necessarily applying pressure. Dempsey stops & appeals for a free kick. He doesn’t chase or attempt to apply any physical pressure, and neither is Brad Close.
@TimKemm@sammydaddo Menzie gathers and is assessing his options here. The first two criteria of the rule don’t matter if he has time and space to dispose of the ball, which he does here. He props to draw pressure, it doesn’t come and he rushes it anyway. Umps were horrible, but that’s a free kick
@Tiger7192926603@JourneyRichmond That’s incorrect. He paid a free kick, so Darcy was well within his rights to go back and have a shot at goal from 50. Don’t drop the ball when a free kick is paid and there won’t be an issue.
