@TheCinesthetic I’m not sure if it’s perfect casting or simply great talent discovery, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was loaded with future stars
Margaret Qualley
Austin Butler
Mikey Madison
I think people confuse subtlety with sameness when it comes to Timothée. The way he blends charisma with this underlying idiocy/naivety is really intentional.
Also Paul Atreides vs. Bob Dylan is a pretty massive range jump.
MBJ was solid, but the “twins = harder” argument feels a bit inflated. The scenes together were impressive, but they’re designed to be similar characters.
Oscar reactions:
I like the spread of awards this year, nothing completely ran away with it.
Jessie Buckley is generational and this feels like just the beginning for her.
I feel for Timothée and Marty Supreme… Best Actor there would’ve made the night perfect for me.
Also… I’m a little tired of Golden.
