@TravisHunterSZN@chilltakes_@liamcoenszn Getting an NFL ready blocker is important. Don’t know if jags have a weapon as versatile as Loveland for those packages but can never have too many bodies for 12-13 personnel
The 12 personnel era is upon us. Last year, 13 teams used 12 personnel on over 25% of plays, with the #Bears being one of them.
Only 5 teams exceeded that rate in 2022. NFL teams are using multiple tight ends to combat the faster, lighter defenses. Chicago's ahead of the curve.
Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet might be the best TE tandem in the NFL. But now you factor Sam Roush into the mix, and he brings pro-ready blocking as an in-line tight end. You can mix and match those guys on 12 personnel, or include all three on 13 personnel.
A lot of teams rely on nickel/dime packages because that's how NFL teams have been building for a decade. Having multiple good tight ends like Chicago has gives them a huge physical advantage.
@ryanflory6@jamcmahon86@MySportsUpdate@Jaguars lol man I’m not a jags fan but cmon this is the man drafted like 20 picks later. Has more receiving production in college but his words do speak volumes
Sean McVay has always been one of the heaviest users of 11-personnel (3 wide receivers).
The Rams used 11-personnel 82% of the time in 2024.
They dropped to 58% in 2025!
They used 13-personnel (3 TEs) on 30.5% of their snaps last year.
They had just 3 *snaps* in 13 in 2024.
@ryanflory6@jamcmahon86@MySportsUpdate@Jaguars Bears took Sam Roush 69 with Loveland and Kmet on roster. Rams Max Klare 61 with Ferg, Higbee, Parkinson. 12 and 13 personnel is the future of the league.
@JayMTTM11@daemarrrr Do you think Myles Garrett has the stamina to sprint like a super hero every snap of the game? Man was 2 sacks away from break the single season record at this point btw
@PoiseNbee@BearsButler55@SleeperNFL@SleeperPackers You are failing to understand that all pro accolades are given to players that CAN play at high levels FOR the duration of the season. Kraft DID NOT do that. Neither did Loveland. Both played at all pro levels for portions of the season, and Kraft is coming off an acl.
@PoiseNbee@BearsButler55@SleeperNFL@SleeperPackers Neither were all pros this year so that’s how Loveland can be better second half of the season he posted the second most receiving yards of any TE outside of McBride, as a rookie. Usage wasn’t there to begin with but he’s only going to build off what happened last season.
