5,000 STUDENTS BRING THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION TO MALACANANG’S DOORSTEP!

Kabataan Partylist congratulates the more than 5,000 students who walked out of their classes today, October 17, to join the National Day of Action at Mendiola, boldly declaring that the Filipino youth will not be silent in the face of corruption and plunder!

Today's mobilization is a resounding continuation of the historic Baha sa Luneta and march to Mendiola last September 21. The growing momentum of various university walkouts across the entire Philippines, especially in NCR, after September 21 and before today, show that the youth are wide awake and unafraid.

Marcos Jr. recently claimed that the issue of corruption would not reach Malacanang, but today's action proves otherwise. The students brought the fight straight to his doorstep and the youth are here to expose the lies, the stolen billions, and the gross betrayal of public trust.

The youth refuse to accept a reality where they bear the burden of budget cuts from their universities while billions are siphoned off into confidential funds, ghost projects and luxuries. Despite the deception and abuse, the youth will continue to fight.

Ito ang tunay na edukasyong mapagpalaya, ang lumaban para sa bayan at sa kinabukasan na karapat-dapat sa ating lahat.

Pero di sapat ang lakas ng kabataan lang. Ito ay laban ng bawat Pilipino. Hamon sa kabataan na dalhin natin ang laban labas pa sa ating mga campus. Mag-organisa tayo kasama ang masang manggagawa, magsasaka, at iba pang anakpawis na bumubuo sa mayorya. Pag-aralan natin ang mga ugat ng kahirapan ng ating bayan.

421 SUSPECTED GHOST FLOOD CONTROL PROJECTS

The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) revealed during a press conference on Monday that they found 421 suspected ghost flood control projects in the country, based on their initial field validation.

From 2018 to 2024, 261 ghost projects were recorded in Luzon, 109 in Visayas, and 51 in Mindanao.

The ICI aims to refer about 15 to 20 cases to the Office of the Ombudsman in the next three weeks.
