@emceekhan So maybe, maybe.
The problem is elsewhere, you do not think? lol
If make 50K$ year and that 2/3 goes in basics, how anything else could be cheaper?
Do you realize that even by working close to 10years, I do not get 50K$ and that I can still understand the cost and value of things
@emceekhan Yea for a african working in mine for 2$ week, it can be a luxury, unaffordable..
But not for an american or even european.
Or you consume games as you consume soda and chips..
@emceekhan If buy a console 600$, keep it 5years, it make about 10$ month. If include subs, buy some games, and that make an avg of 50-60$ month. Put your salary in perspective.
You could buy games as consume soda, chips, you could drink tap water too.
@emceekhan What the consumers name it, a 'hobby'..
But as any hobby, everything have a cost, even if you do fishing, you will need materials, the cost of that materials also increased.
Or you look to buy low quality chinese things that break as soon you get a fish.. lol
@emceekhan Even so, a Rolex, if count cost of research, development and cost of production is cheaper than games, consoles, technology, gpu, cpu etc.
So I'm used to name a cat, a cat, 'luxury' is about 'luxury', games, consoles, even at the current prices, are not in the luxury category.
@emceekhan Even by selling at loss, it was not cheaper than today.
And I absolutely do not see prices that could get lower than now.
Prices increase in everything, inflation.
Or there's a new tech that can cut the cost by dozens, but even with Ai, it will have a cost, higher than before.
But it was dad and mum that was working to pay the games so, it was fine.
Pple bark that gta6 could be 100$, but count the inflation gta3 was also about 100$.
I bought games back then, count inflation could be 160$ today, I had no problem with that, and was happy to get games.
In the beginning, video games were basically a luxury item. Atari and Collecovision units were not cheap back then. Games were not cheap.
We went through three cycles of video games being more luxury then back to affordable three times in 45 years. Each time being less affordable
@emceekhan I could understand, the perspective of low prices for such as third world countries, but absolutely not from american or european perspectives.
If you have to work few hours to get something, I do not see that as a 'luxury'..
@emceekhan It's already extremely cheap today, I do not see how they could go lower than that.
Ai? reduce price of prod by 5, by 10?
Go back to budget of few million$, that even with inflation will cost more for the same made before anyway?
The low prices is already what kill that today.
@emceekhan It was not cheaper before.
I do not see what company, whatever they are can do with the inflation and that the currencies are always loosing more of their value.
The reality is there, and it's rather the cycle of the money loosing value.. lol
