A-Class 👌🏼 with Aethir - Edge computing for AR/VR Games

Metaverse gaming experiences that leverage augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headsets are projected to grow rapidly. However, such gamified experiences require an extremely high data streaming bandwidth 📡
Gaming edge computing is an excellent example of how decentralized gaming technologies can support and power futuristic game forms.

🎮 Edge computing has a significant competitive advantage over traditional clouds when it comes to AR/VR game streaming. That’s because edge networks can process the necessary data through Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) closest to the end-user.

👉 For example, imagine a player in New York City, another in Tokyo, and a third in London all participating in the same AR/VR game session. With edge computing, each player's actions are processed in real-time by GPUs located closest to them, minimizing latency and ensuring a smooth gaming experience.

🤖 Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an essential component of Web 3.0 metaverse experiences that require significant real-time data processing. In AR/VR gaming, the ability to instantly respond to user decisions heavily depends on advanced AI algorithms. The processing power of edge computing is a game-changer for real-time gaming solutions that require immense GPU power.

April 2024 was exceptional for Aethir and the community. It was marked by our successful historical checker node sale and a significant presence at the @token2049 Dubai event 🏝️
↓

We took a leap into the future, unveiling the @AethirEdge, a revolutionary edge computing device powered by the advanced Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 865 chip, designed to redefine how we interact with technology.
↓

On 20th April, we launched the Testnet versions of the checker owner portal and the checker client GUI/CLI to enable checker node license NFT holders to familiarize themselves with the node operating mechanics.
↓

Our excitement continued as we introduced our Aethir Cloud Drop, aiming to decentralize ownership of our upcoming ATH token by distributing a portion of the token supply among the Aethir community and other dedicated Web 3.0 communities.
↓

We wrapped the month on a high note by launching our ecosystem, @AethirEco, fueled by Aethir's partners 🌐

Aethir is a distributed GPU cloud infrastructure provider, and it is important to understand what it means to be a DCI and why it is essential for the modern world 🌍

Blockchain networks and Web3 technologies have led to the rise of decentralized infrastructure. Unlike traditional cloud networks, decentralized networks use a distributed array of computing resources and network nodes instead of relying on centralized servers, which offers several benefits.

Here is why DCI is so important 🧵👇🏻

[Aethir @AethirCloud]

Our Aethir checker node sale has been a huge success 🔥
🔹 20000+ checker node owners for our decentralized infrastructure
🔹 Over 73,000 node licenses sold, valued at 41,000+ ETH

This achievement marks a significant step towards decentralization by distributing nodes throughout the community.
To ensure the fair distribution of all node license NFTs and take a snapshot of current node license holders, we will pause the node sale on May 8, 2024.

We express our heartfelt thanks to our partners and Aethirians, our community, for their constant support in our pursuit of decentralized ownership and a trustless ecosystem 🙏

Moving forward:
1️ Aethir node sale closes on May 8, with a week left for community to purchase node licenses.
2️⃣ Visit https://t.co/B2AkMkvuzI to purchase node licenses.
3️⃣ We will snapshot current license owners for the upcoming $ATH token generation event.
4️⃣ Through governance, the community can decide if and when to resume the sale or perhaps burn all unsold checker node licenses.

Last chance to buy your node license and become an early contributor to our decentralized Checker Node network ☁️🌐

XBG FUNDING 🟥

We're thrilled to be backed by industry-leading executives, prominent angel investors and most importantly, our community.

This will allow us to further develop the XBorg protocol and empower players to create and utilise their player identity.

COMMUNITY-CENTRIC

We did not seek VC funding; instead, we chose to offer 50% of our early-stage funding to our community of players.

Thus, empowering them to own a stake in XBorg and have governance rights over the development of our protocol, ecosystem and applications.

TIER ONE NETWORK

We decided to strategically raise from prominent executives at industry-leading organisations such as:

- Ethereum Foundation
- ByBit
- ESL
- YGG
- Aave Protocol
- FaceIt

This has allowed us to form a formidable network within the crypto, gaming and esports industries.

GAME CHANGERS

We’ve onboarded more than 80 of the top content creators, founders and traders across the crypto, DeFi, GameFi and NFT industries, leaving no demographic or platform untouched.

These prominent figures share our community-first values and will help us achieve our mission of empowering players globally.

[VirtualBacon @virtualbacon]

I seeded in @XBorgHQ the gaming venture arm of SwissBorg. Their user acquisition platform is a must have tool for Web3 titles. Major ESports Orgs onboarded including @TeamLiquid @NIP @TeamBDS

XBG TOKENOMICS 🟥

Total supply: 1 billion $XBG tokens

XBG will be issued as an ERC-20 token, bridgeable across Solana and EVMs via our integration with Wormhole. The distribution and unlocking of XBG is as follows:

COMMUNITY FOCUSED

More than 50% of XBG is dedicated to the community.

18% of the XBG supply will be directly dedicated to the XBorg community through in-app rewards and airdrops. 24.5% of the XBG Supply will be dedicated towards ecosystem development and growth, decided by community voting.

Our community was among the first XBorg investors with a community seed raise of 4% of the XBG supply. An additional 5% is allocated to the community via the upcoming XBG Presale.

UNLOCK SCHEDULE

100% of the XBG token supply will be unlocked within 80 months of launching the token.

At TGE, 5.85% of the total token supply will be unlocked. After 1 year, 16% of the supply will be unlocked.

TOKEN ONLY

We’ve refrained from raising capital through equity, enabling us to concentrate fully on generating value for token holders rather than shareholders. This commitment showcases our dedication to being truly community-centric.

Through our XBG reward pool, XBG holders will be able to receive value generated from the XBorg protocol and applications, based on their contribution to the ecosystem.

FAIR DISTRIBUTION

We didn't seek funding from VCs; instead, we attracted support from distinguished figures in the industry such as executives and business angels from FaceIt/ESL, Ethereum Foundation, YGG, and Lens Protocol, among others.

Therefore, the distribution of XBG tokens is equitable, with the largest investor holding only 0.4% of the token supply.

We believe Web3 projects should mirror the ethos of ICOs, where VCs don’t hold massive sway and token allocations prioritise fairness to the community.

Disclaimer: Tokenomics might adapt over time, changes will be communicated and governed by the XBG holders.
