Here is the recipe for Gemmer, Ginger beer: 🥰
20 litre bucket
2 big pineapples
2 kg Brown sugar
2x50 g Ground ginger powder
50g Cream of Tartar
100g raisins
Method:
1) Pour all ingredients in the bucket
2) Cut the pineapple peels/rind and thrown with the dry ingredients
3) Pour 2 kettles of boiling water and stir, mix together
4) Pour boiling water half the bucket stir
5) Then fill the bucket with cold water
6) Cover, leave it for 3 to 4 days. Only open it on the 3rd day to stir and see if it's starting to make bubbles
7) On the 5/6 day sift with a clean white cloth
8) Put in bottles and refrigerate
From the 7th day onwards, you must be careful when you open it because it can spill, burst. You open it slowly. 😅 Don't leave it the bucket, take everything out.
You can go impress your mamazalas, inlaws during December holidays 😊❤️
