@nymphicusvirgo@sigourneybeaver The cage we have -- this is a US Amazon link but it's imported from China so presumably available in the UK as well

@nymphicusvirgo@sigourneybeaver Mine is also very large and also very active when she wants to be (she's called Xena because she has a habit of jump/flying from place to place). The better bird cages are very sturdy and I can personally attest will withstand a cat's attentions.
@sigourneybeaver@nymphicusvirgo 3 parakeets and a very angry parrotlet. Wanting to get a ringneck parrot but they are very pricy and a whole lot of commitment.
@sigourneybeaver@nymphicusvirgo we managed to find a large bird cage that is cat proof which is quite rare, your usual hanging bird cage will, without fail, attract a cat doing a high leap and then hanging on for dear life while thrusting paws into the cage blindly. Which looks funny but terrorizes the bird.
@sigourneybeaver@nymphicusvirgo we're a bird and cat household and yes you have to be very careful to keep them apart because no matter how peaceful the cat seems it can and will attack and maul birds at any moment thanks to instinct.
@djahaak They have some pretty out there beliefs and are one of the few religions still going that are essentially a Cult of Secrets.

@djahaak They're an Islamic splinter that most Muslims consider apostates, thus they cast their lot in with the Israeli state during the 1948 War of Independence.
