@PiercingPaper βGood...β Ward straightened up, taking in a deep breath.
βDonβt disappoint me again, Dex... You might not like what I have to do next time.β
Wardβs words were clear, and simple.
Heβd hate for him to not understand.
@PiercingPaper βThatβs what I thought,β he snarled, hands on the railing on the mans bed.
βYou will be pit against men and women who could rip you apart like *that-*β
He snapped his fingers, emphasising his point.
βYou donβt get a layout, you donβt *get* parameters. You get instinct, +
@PiercingPaper βCalm down, Dex. Do I look like someone whoβs willing to tolerate failure?β
The short answer was no. The long answer...
He doubted Dex wanted to experience.
@PiercingPaper βAnd maybe it wouldβve been. But the order was to fight *Shield*, not those that were *helping you.* I could order you to jump off a bridge and your only thought should be *as youβre doing it.*β
@PiercingPaper Wardβs eye twitched at the growl, and let out one of his own before standing, and looking over Dexβs bedside.
βYou cannot jill your *own* in the *field.*β
@PiercingPaper Heβd wake up, back in a bed. He wasnβt strapped down, at least.
Ward was to his side, sitting in the chair near his bed, drumming his fingers against his bicep and watching the man with an almost... Disappointed look.
@PiercingPaper The Hydra soldiers followed their commands, and they shot down the Shield agents.
Momentary relief for the man, to be sure. But it was short lived as one of the Hydra soldiers jammed a taser into the mans thigh, with the sole intention of knocking him out.
