I’m really sorry if this decision made you feel left out or hurt.

The reason we made the server 18+ only is because Discord, unlike Twitter, comes with a higher risk. It allows more private conversations between users, and there’s a greater chance of running into inappropriate content or adults with bad intentions.

On top of that, there are international laws like COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act in the US) that exist to protect minors online. As someone older, I feel it’s my responsibility to keep you safe not just as a fan, but as a person.

I’m very serious about protecting younger people because honestly, I wish more adults had protected me when I was a kid. So now, I’m trying to be the kind of adult I wish I’d had back then.

Since this is an official server, it’s different from fan-made spaces. It’ll naturally attract attention from people outside our community too. That raises the chances of issues popping up, and the truth is, I’m pretty overwhelmed with projects as it is, so I wouldn’t be able to handle any serious problems if they came up in the server.

You probably get that Discord is way more personal than Twitter. The things people talk about, the late-night chats, etc. it’s just a totally different vibe. That’s why I made this call with safety in mind, not just for you, but for everyone.

That said, I completely understand why someone your age might feel left out or unsure. But please know this! just because there’s a Discord now doesn’t mean I’ll stop using YouTube or social media. I’m not leaving you behind. Not ever.

I’m still right here. And I’ll be waiting for the day you’re old enough to join us as an adult. Honestly, being an adult has its fun parts too (like being able to drink lol).
