When you move to Europe for the military, they will only pay for the transportation of one car from the states.

When I got to Germany, the first thing I did was buy a cheap car from someone that was leaving. This thing barely passed inspection. It burned through oil, the transmission was rough, and the speedometer didn’t work. Still, it did the trick.

When I left Germany, I sold it to a Private in my unit for 700 dollars. I left him two quarts of oil in the trunk and told him he had to keep an eye on it, or it would be an issue.

Within a week, the car caught fire at the gate of the base.

I gave him his money back.
