Sometimes you have to back up a little bit and think about what things really mean: The top priority of the Trump-led Republican Party is to keep Democrats from voting. That’s their most important policy position right now.
Lesbian rights are human rights.
Gay rights are human rights.
Bisexual rights are human rights.
Transgender rights are human rights.

The Supreme Court’s decision allowing the Trump administration to end legal protections for Haitians and Syrians is heartbreaking and morally dangerous.
We are talking about people who fled violence, instability, natural disaster, civil war, and conditions no human being should be forced to endure. Many have built lives here, raised families here, worked here, and contributed to communities across this nation.
America has a long history of deciding which people are worthy of refuge, dignity, and protection, too often along lines of race, ethnicity, religion, and national origin. We must tell the truth about that history. Black and Brown people seeking safety have too often been met with suspicion, cruelty, and rejection instead of compassion and justice.
Temporary Protected Status was created to protect people from being sent back into danger. Ending those protections for Haitian and Syrian families is not just a legal decision. It is a moral one.
We must choose humanity.

If Majority Leader Thune wants to shut down this $2 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund, he and his Republican colleagues could do so in a heartbeat. After all, Congress does have the power of the purse.
Black athletes have helped build college athletics into one of the most powerful and profitable industries in American life.
Institutions that profit from Black talent and Black communities have a responsibility to stand with those communities when their fundamental rights are under attack. Silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality — it is complicity.
Our statement unanimously opposing the SCORE Act:
I don't give a damn what any possible 2028 presidential candidate thinks about 2028.
Show me the work you're doing *now* for the Midterms.
What are you--aspiring leader of the party--doing at this very moment to win back Congress?
Where are you in the foxhole NOW? Where are you helping House and Senate candidates?
Show me that work, and I'll give a damn about your thoughts on 2028 after the Midterms.
Everyone needs to watch @Justinjpearson's floor speech from the TN State House.
"Today, you will take the only Black-majority district from us. But I want you to know: No matter what you do, no matter how much you try to break us & make us bend & quit — we will still be here."
Can someone let the AP know that violating court orders is not a sign of "executive power. " It is a sign of contempt, lawlessness and authoritarianism.
We now know the Iran war price tag is more like $50 billion - hundreds of dollars per household - and counting.
It's enough to cover all the health insurance premium credits that the Republicans got rid of for this year, and next. It could save rural hospitals, pay teachers, fix roads.
Don't let this White House insult your intelligence by blowing your money on war, then saying America can't afford nice things.
For a party that "doesn't see color," Republicans sure are obsessed with eliminating Black representation in Congress. Gutting the Voting Rights Act is one of the most shameless and disgusting assaults on democracy in our time.
Passed in 1965 with overwhelming bipartisan support, and re-authorized repeatedly, the Voting Rights Act has long and widely been regarded as one of the signal achievements in US political history. Now, an activist conservative super-majority of Court has taken it down with a brutal 1-2 attack.
Classic disinformation tactic. The either/or fallacy: if a gunman tries to assassinate the president, he embodies all members of the other party. Nonsense.
Political violence of all stripes against any political figure is unacceptable.
So is the rank hypocrisy of someone who now says he respects law enforcement after he provoked the largest political violence in DC and then pardoned those who attacked officers.
Those of us in the pro-democracy movement can and should hold both of these positions.
1. We unequivocally reject violence.
2. We will unequivocally oppose efforts by this administration to use last night as an excuse to try to suppress criticism and criminalize dissent.
We cannot forget that while Trump praises law enforcement for protecting him, he totally disrespected law enforcement officers who protected democracy against his coup attempt on Jan. 6. Never forget.
I stand with my brother in Christ, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, in his courageous call for a kingdom of peace.
As I prepare to visit Rome later this month to meet and pray with Pope Leo, I am mindful of his call to keep our eyes open to the suffering of the world, and our gaze fixed on our crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ – the image of the invisible God, in whose image and likeness every human being is made. In him, we recognise that we are children of the one Father and members of a single human family. Prayer is not an escape from the world, nor a turning away from injustice; rather, it is a turning towards God in the midst of it, confronting evil, seeking God’s will, and becoming instruments of transformation and peace.

🎯 Apologists trying to credit Orbán for conceding are intentionally missing the point. He would’ve done anything to stay in power had he thought it possible. Hungarians made it impossible. Trying & failing to destroy democracy receives no credit. He didn't stop; he was stopped.
Record turnout by Hungarian voters was too much for Orbán's dirty tricks or to deny. He didn’t want exile or worse. Will see as his epic corruption is exposed. I hope this is the "Hungarian model" that applies to the US midterms, which usually have low, <50% turnout. Vote!
