Men commit most of the violence. They also commit most of the heroism.
Chris Williamson points to the Carnegie Award, given to people who risk their lives for strangers. Out of roughly 10,000 awards, 93 % went to men. In the Aurora theater shooting, three young men threw themselves over their girlfriends as the bullets started. All three men died. All three women lived.
We talk constantly about the first statistic. We rarely sit with the second. The same traits that can turn destructive in one context show up as protection when the threat is real.
The question isn’t whether masculinity can be dangerous. It’s whether we still want the version that runs toward the danger when someone else is in it.
To the people new to this, we all know this story, but I bet you don’t. This 50 year old man was allowed to compete in the girls’ 12-14 category and change in their locker room in front of them. “But who cares?” WE DO.
In 2003, the most hated team in the NBA did the kindest thing anyone has ever done on a basketball court.
April 25, 2003. Rose Garden, Portland. Game 3 of the first round against Dallas. The Blazers are down 2-0 and facing elimination from the moment they wake up.
That Blazers team had a nickname. The Jail Blazers.
They were, at the time, maybe the least likable team in professional sports. Arrests. Suspensions. A roster full of guys the national media treated as villains. Portland fans were exhausted by them.
Before the game, a 13 year old girl named Natalie Gilbert walks to center court to sing the national anthem in front of 19,980 people.
What nobody in the building knew is that she was sick. She had the flu. She later said she just didn't feel like herself at all that day.
She gets a few lines in.
And then her brain goes blank.
She sings "star's last gleaming" instead of "twilight's last gleaming," realizes it instantly, and stops. She looks around. She puts her hand to her face.
Thirteen years old. Twenty thousand people. National television. Frozen.
There is no worse feeling available to a human being.
And then a man walks out of the Portland huddle.
Maurice Cheeks, the head coach, minutes away from a playoff elimination game, leaves his team, walks across the floor, puts his arm around her shoulder and says, "C'mon."
Then he starts singing with her.
Now understand something. Maurice Cheeks cannot sing. At all. He is not remotely trying to rescue the performance.
He's just refusing to let a kid stand there alone.
He keeps his arm around her the whole way. He feeds her the next words. And within a few seconds, all 19,980 people in that building stand up and sing it with them.
A moment that was going to define a little girl's life in the worst possible way became the exact opposite.
Dan Patrick wrote at the time that Cheeks' simple actions had become the defining moment of the entire playoffs.
They went on Jay Leno together. CNN. Good Morning America. It became one of the first truly viral NBA moments, years before that word meant anything.
Portland lost the game. They lost the series. Cheeks finished his Blazers tenure with a fairly ordinary record and was eventually let go.
Now here's the ending.
In March 2025, almost 22 years later, Maurice Cheeks came back to Portland as an assistant coach with the New York Knicks.
The Blazers found Natalie Gilbert.
She's 35 now. Married. Goes by Natalie Zito. She's also, as it turns out, a Blazers season ticket holder.
They brought her back to sing the anthem again.
She nailed it. The whole building erupted. And the camera cut to Cheeks on the sideline, beaming like a proud father.
The two of them met before the game and hugged.
What she said afterward is why this story matters. She explained that she'd been made fun of a lot as a kid, and that in the moment she felt most helpless and hopeless, a stranger walked right over with no hesitation.
"This moment changed my life."
And then she said something even better. That she wouldn't go back and change any of it. That seeing him again and finding out he's still the same standup guy proved it was all real.
Twenty two years. One arm around a shoulder.
Follow @thesportsontap, we post a story like this every day.
I will never forget the day that DOGE discovered that FEMA was spending $59 MILLION to house illegal aliens in luxury hotels in NYC…
…all while FEMA nearly kicked out 3,000 Americans from THEIR hotel rooms in the dead of winter in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene
Convicted pedophile, pimp, rapist and killer David Rademaker is telling the California Department of Corrections that he is a vulnerable transgender woman now.
Rademaker
🔸Raped at least two 14 year-old girls, while they were handcuffed
🔸Raped and murdered 20 year-old Kimberly Pandelios, while she was handcuffed, after he lured her into the forest on the promise of a photo shoot
🔸Took one of the teen girls to the scene of Pandelios’ murder, where he boasted about sodomizing and drowning her

Over a 15 year time period there was a 72% increase in criminals not being competent to stand trial for their crimes.
72% increase over 15 years.
Criminals competent enough to commit acts of violence but not enough to stand trial for it.
Scam.
You don't get to spend years pushing to fundamentally transform the country, divide it on racial lines, inject DEI into every institution, and then try to brush it off as a minor misunderstanding when your worldview turns out to be extremely unpopular with the American people.
35-year-old father of five, Garnet Harper, was denied a life-saving kidney transplant in Ontario — not because there weren’t donors, but because he hadn’t received the COVID vaccine.
His own brothers had volunteered to give him a kidney, yet no hospital would perform the surgery.
Garnet passed away in May, leaving behind his wife of 12 years and their five young children. While he was still fighting for his life, hospital staff asked his wife if they could harvest his organs once he was gone.
He was considered unworthy of receiving a transplant while alive… but valuable enough to take organs from once he died.
This isn’t just a policy debate anymore. It’s a family that will never be whole again.
A man in effect sentenced to death for exercising his right to informed consent. That's not an exaggeration given he apparently had willing donors. Oh, and he turned out to be right about the Covid shots, not that it matters
Can you imagine losing your husband or father this way?
There is a species of ant that approaches the edge of another colony, kills a single worker, and then takes on the dead ant’s scent.
For ants, scent is everything. Wearing that scent, the intruder walks in with no resistance. The workers pass by without concern.
The intruder moves inward, toward the queen, then It sprays the queen with a different scent that makes the workers turn on her. Then they surround her and kill her.
The intruder does not need to fight anyone. The colony does the work itself.
Once the queen is gone, the intruder reproduces. The true invader is no longer an intruder. It is the future.
This is how ideological takeover works.
A destructive foreign ideology takes the scent of familiar ideas and walks in as if it belongs.
It speaks the native vocabulary, justice, equality, compassion, rights, progress. It uses these words and quietly changes what they point to.
Then it moves inward.
It alters how foundations are perceived. Responsibility is made to smell like cruelty, law like oppression, borders like hatred, tradition like danger, history like guilt.
At that point, the civilization turns on itself.
Its courts, universities, churches, media, and bureaucracies begin treating their own foundations as threats. They believe they are defending the system.
They are enforcing what now smells legitimate. They do not see the intruder because it sounds exactly like them.
And when the founding principles are finally removed, discredited, dismantled, erased, the foreign ideology does not need to conquer anything. It inherits what is left.
The queen is gone. The colony is no longer itself.
The most effective conquest is the one that convinces a society that its own foundations are the enemy, and that killing them is an act of virtue.
Australia is so cooked.
A female homeowner found an intruder in her shed. She subdued him with a baseball bat and chained him up, then forced him to reveal the location of her items and the accomplices.
She was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, kidnapping with intent to cause actual bodily harm and being armed with intent to commit an offence. She has been refused bail.
No charges filed against the intruders yet.
Can't have guns, can't protect our own property without guns, just need to let the criminals run free.
1995. Presidential Radio Address.
Clinton: It does not matter if they have committed crimes while here. They came here illegally. That's a crime. They have to go.
In 1995 the entire country agreed with this. It was common sense. Now Democrats call this fascism and hate speech.
Folks don't realize that Jason Arday’s “research” isn’t even close to the peak of academic absurdity. For example, Princeton hosted a “queer-trans-feminist river scientist" who spoke about being a "salmon oracle" performer.

In 2005 there was a social experiment where a documentary crew gave a homeless guy $100,000 and access to free financial advice. He blew it all and was back on the street within 6 months.
Libs don’t want to accept this but the vast majority of criminals, homeless, and druggies aren’t the in their predicament because of some grand social injustice, but because they fall into one of two categories:
1) they’re retarded
2) they’re evil
For both, even if you snapped your fingers and “met” every “need” they had instantaneously, it wouldn’t do them much good and their behavior and outcomes would remain largely unchanged.
The retards genuinely lack the ability to comprehend consequences and exert self-discipline. They’re like permatoddlers. No amount of hand-holding can change this.
The evils simply do not care about consequences and do not want to exert self-discipline. They’re fundamentally anti-social. No amount of hand-holding can change this.
At the core of this guy’s tweet is a persistent theme of thought most liberals hold dear: “If someone else had exactly what I have, they would be just like me, and if I had what they had I would be just like them” and that simply isn’t true.
And you see this belief threaded throughout not just their views on poverty, but also immigration, foreign affairs, gender, etc.
To them, it’s all superficial. All it takes to make an Indian act like a Japanese is to put the Indian in Japan. All it takes to make a homeless guy a normie is to put him in a condo. All it takes to make a man a woman is to put him in a dress.
They believe the “inside” is all the same. The only contradiction to repair is on the outside.
Modern leftists cling onto to this demonstrably false view because if they stopped to actually consider why this never seems to work, it would open a whole can of worms for them ideologically.
So they instead just move the goalposts constantly, always having a shadowy new devil to blame for this belief always proving itself wrong.
I don’t see anywhere in this reporting:
“Fauci blatantly lied to Congress”
“Fauci deleted records”
“Fauci kept what he knows hidden from the public and lied about it.”
The legacy media still won’t own up to anything.
That's only the tip of the iceberg.
Across all medical schools, Asians who were REJECTED have about the same MCATs as blacks who were ACCEPTED, and have higher undergrad GPAs.
And speaking of Duke: At that institution, the SAT gap between Asians and blacks is nearly 200 points.
Amazing result. The Law Society of BC put out garbage pedagogical materials for its members, peddling the false 215-graves claim. When a lawyer called them out on the lie, the BC Law Society tried to smear him as a racist, a despicable act from a legal regulator. Now they’ve been forced to walk back the lie. Everyone in charge of that organization should resign in disgrace
Universities do not exist to promote "marginalized voices." They do not exist to promulgate social engineering experiments. They do not exist to engage in social justice activism. A university exists to expand the boundaries of human knowledge, to defend truth, and to create an ecosystem for intellectual enrichment. Once a university optimizes the wrong variables, we end up with the parasitized minds that we now see populating academia, business, politics, journalism, culture, etc. The West in general and the US in particular were founded on a set of key ideals that are unique to human history. Do not presume that these ideals are the default reality. There is always a tsunami of miscreants who are working day and night to end our liberties and freedoms, and destroy these ideals. Be vigilant. Fight for our civilization. Activate your inner honey badger.
