For the past week I have been watching Minke Whales Swim within 500 Yards of The Beach at both Whitby and Sandsend.
Best viewing seems to be from Sandsend Sea Wall just after Hugh tide.
No need for binoculars, they are perfectly visible with your eyes.
Look for the feeding birds and the whales will not be far away.

Last night our crew member Ryan captured these amazing aerial shots of our weekly training exercise.
Both Whitby RNLI lifeboats were out on the exercise which involved the all-weather lifeboat, Lois Ivan towing a vessel into the harbour.
