📢 Big changes are coming to recycling in Luton!
What’s changing from late March?
🍎 Weekly food waste collections (new caddies arriving from February)
🥛 More frequent glass collections (moving from monthly to every 2 weeks)
Why the changes?
This is part of the government’s national Simpler Recycling initiative
Collecting food waste separately means:
✅ Your black bin will be fresher
✅ Your food waste is turned into renewable energy and fertiliser

❄️ Cold weather update ❄️
Very cold conditions this week, with light snow expected Tuesday–Thursday and a small chance again Friday–Saturday.
What we’re doing:
✔️ Monitoring conditions 24/7
✔️ Gritting twice daily
✔️ 150+ salt bins available on roads and public footpaths
✔️ Priority routes treated first (including some high-footfall footways like the town centre)
🚗 Please park considerately – blocked junctions and double parking can prevent gritting vehicles getting through.

🚨 Our Priority ASB team has secured a full closure order on a property in Robert Allen Court, Langley Street, following persistent drug and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour.
