Peter Phillips' wedding day is a chance to bring out the story of how when he captained Gordonstoun at rugby he was greeted by Inverness ref Colin Baillie at the coin toss with the words: "would you like tails ,...or granny?"
@Billybingbong2@SabirahLohn I thought the same. Ballet shoes common on flowergirls although you can get them with proper soles - seemed a bit bizarre on teenagers. You can see they're filthy already before they've even got into the church!
@Sam_in_Cam@Chisholm4Trail@crash_map I've been round it once since it opened (don't go that way very often) and I felt unsafe, for the reasons you say - couldn't trust that the motorists would stop. I'd avoid cycling that was again. As a motorist it was awful too 🤷
@JohnHundeslit I have had the same thought about being the end of the line for maternal mitochondria as I've got boys, so they won't pass that on. I think I'm the last on this branch going back to my great great grandmother - not sure about the family tree above that.
@JohnHundeslit@anon_opin My dad has named the freezers... One is taller than the other so he calls them after our children - eldest is the tallest one. I've been asked to do vinyl decals to stick on the front 🤣
Week 16. Day 4.
How can it be so complicated to actually hold the most senior players at the very top of our public agencies to account when they fail to govern, scrutinise and manage.
It’s not a witch hunt, and never should be, but if you aren’t prepared to fall on the sword if you get it so very wrong on your watch, then you shouldn’t take the ‘big job’ in the first place.
#nottinghaminquiry 💛💚
@JeSuisUnDan@EmSilverwood91 Fundamentally if you aren't aware and can't advocate for yourself/have a partner who can, you've got no chance. So many women go into it totally trusting that the level of care will be what it should be.
Families of the Nottingham attacks victims were praised for their "outstanding public service" in forcing the Nottingham Inquiry this morning.
A former ombudsman said pushing for change far too often fell on such families, but that we would be "a lot further back" without them.
@JeSuisUnDan@EmSilverwood91 Very much thankful for 2 elective caesareans here (I grow breech babies) - the postnatal care after the 1st resulted in a complaint that was mostly upheld.
