@JLBKL@SamCKx There is difference between getting threats due to being a public figure, which is still bad, and active making the threats. Additionally, unless the journos were actively posting his address, reporting the country/city that he is residing in isn't really breaking a ethical line.
@PolitlcsUK People in the comments talking about this being a voter-buying scheme, curious if any of them objected to Trump and Musk offering payouts if Republicans win the mid-terms?
Alot is already known, its just our prime minsters simply didn't say it. How successful it was is really hard to measure but given how tight the result was it was most likely enough to decide the result.
"The former leader of Reform UK in Wales has been sentenced to 10-and-a-half years in prison after admitting taking bribes for pro-Russia interviews and speeches."
"UK exposes attempted Russian cyber interference in politics and democratic processes"
"Russian influence in the UK is the new normal. Successive Governments have welcomed the oligarchs and their money with open arms, providing them with a means of recycling illicit finance through the London ‘laundromat’, and connections at the highest levels with access to UK companies and political figures." https://t.co/6glUvtlpPd https://t.co/fT9StKxckx https://t.co/vRB8fXAfz6"
@BotFinderUK Can we not let morons like these co-opt the idea of being a patriot ? I love my country and the people that reside in it (even if some of them are nobs), but you won't catch me wearing a primark gimp suit pretending to be a knights templar crusader.
The craziest thing I've probably witnessed is how quickly the sheer amount misinformation on the proposed changes to UK Voter ID has spread. The proposed bill includes expanding the acceptable forms of ID due to low voter turn out, it is not about scrapping voter ID at all.
@BenGrahamUK Oh this is beautiful. So do tell us, what photo ID requirement is being scrapped? Also do you recognise the difference between illegal immigants and asylum seekers?
Do all of reform truly lack any level of integrity?
@PolitlcsUK Literally just lying... no photo ID checks are being scraped. It's not even all bank cards, it's specific bank cards that show a full name. Even then it's still being processed by the House of Lords who will likely bounce it back due to security concerns.
@homersimpson778@PolitlcsUK@grok Wasn't about being a own. It's about actually looking at the numbers (facts/data) and determining if the situation is actually under control.
@knowles204@HampseyMatt@PolitlcsUK Not true, it's dispensed as flower, gummies and vape liquid. The "smoking" argument is that you're not supposed to mix it with tobacco and need to vape it otherwise your defence is weaker.
It wasn’t even PMQs yesterday, but Andy Burnham spent 3.5 hours answering 125 questions.
The usual hard right grifters started posting that Burnham “wasn’t answering any questions” less than halfway through the session, whilst he was literally answering questions in real time.
This is what we are up against, people. A group of dishonest, disingenuous, bought and paid for propagandists with large platforms whose only goal is to destabilise our democracy with their disinformation.
These people aren’t patriots. They are paid for by non-UK resident billionaires to damage the UK, whilst waving their flags and bleating on all day about things designed to scare you.
I am totally against tribal politics. I think Parliament needs a strong opposition, and I don’t have any particular party allegiances, but I do think Burnham is clearly capable, has a clear and obvious track record of serious success with Manchester, and is focussed on bringing together a country that these grifters are bent on destroying for their own financial gain.
The patriotic thing to do would be to give a clearly capable Prime Minister time to deliver, rather than pile on with your pre-planned, phoney outrage, before the guy has even unpacked his cases.
