@bill_borgiel@DavidKrayden My son in law is active duty military. He works on the coastal border alongside the American troops. They work as a team. I wonder what they all think when they hear this stuff.
@Saltygoat77 Dual citizen ๐จ๐ฆ๐บ๐ธ love both countries. Itโs so sad to see regular people fighting over tariff policy. I live in ๐จ๐ฆ now but was planning a visit to see my friends in ๐บ๐ธ. I lived in ๐บ๐ธ most of my adult life. I fear I will go back to find myself surrounded by hate in my own ๐บ๐ธ home.
@RatedR4Robynne How can anyone believe this? He knows full well America gets most of their oil from Canada. If he didnโt need anything, why did he want to control Canadian imports and exports? He doesnโt want us to sell our natural resources to other countries because he wants them for himself.
@RMapleCan What a joke. Iโm surprised he didnโt want to name it after himself. One person cannot just change the names of locations. What if Canada decided to rename Lake Michigan?
@Jane16730229@MAXFUN110@leroy_clary Stealing from the US?? What was stolen? If carney had caved, if he had given Trump control of our imports and exports, Canadians would kick him out of office. America wouldnโt allow a foreign country to dictate their trade agreements.
@Elvis1963@AmericaRecharge Trudeau was awful. I was living through Trumps first term at that time. I would move back to the US if I could. I have some serious problems with Canada but they never make the news. Still, I shudder to think of the fate of Canada if the US controls Canadian oil.
@Jane16730229@MAXFUN110@leroy_clary Carney was representing Canadians on this front. If he agreed to allow the US to control how much of our resources we sell and to who, Canadians would riot in the streets. Thatโs the one thing we canโt compromise.
@leroy_clary Dual citizen ๐จ๐ฆ๐บ๐ธ Canadians were willing to compromise on most things, but not the trade controls. Thatโs where we draw the line. If the US was allowed to determine how much of our oil we can sell and to who, we would be giving up control of our country.
@KatMunro14@AmericaRecharge That was the only concession I would not make. Put the booze on the shelves, negotiate tariffs, I donโt care. If America gets first dibs at our oil and can dictate when we can sell to other countries, we canโt accept that. Thatโs where I draw the line.
@_PA_KAG_girl This is about politicians, not people. Iโm an American Canadian. My friends and family on both sides of the border are equally diverse. We have zero control over what the politicians do. I want to go back to ๐บ๐ธ and hope Iโm not hated when I return.
@blerghhh@Thomas_Milne I hate the mayhem. Iโm a dual citizen ๐จ๐ฆ๐บ๐ธ Iโm an American that wants to visit my home, my family, my friends, but that is seeming less and less likely. Will everyone hate me if and when I return?
@StressStopper I donโt understand this argument at all. We donโt borrow money from America. Both countries buy and sell goods and pay for them. America has never handed us any money aside from paying for things they buy. Someone needs to explain what debts theyโre talking about.
@Cx2c2y The people of Canada are not the politicians. Iโm glad you made that distinction. The scary thing is that America needs some of our stuff like oil and electricity. If it canโt be gotten through negotiation, we fear it will be taken by force.
