This name is not a political invention, nor a term coined in the last century; it is a title that dates back over 2,500 years, used by Greek historians such as Strabo and Ptolemy, referenced in countless maps, texts, treaties, and official documents throughout history.

To alter this name for political convenience or regional vanity is not only disrespectful — it is an erasure of cultural heritage and a blatant act of historical revisionism. The term “Arabian Gulf” is a modern fabrication with no academic, historical, or geographical legitimacy, promoted solely by nationalist agendas in recent decades. No reputable historian or global geographical body recognizes it as valid.

Let us be absolutely clear: changing names does not change history. It distorts it. It insults centuries of shared knowledge, academic integrity, and the legacy of the civilizations that shaped this region. The Persian Gulf is not a matter of Iranian pride alone — it is a matter of truth. And truth does not bow to politics.

To those who continue to misuse or manipulate this name: you are not redefining geography; you are simply revealing your ignorance of it.

خلیج فارس؛ نامی ریشه‌دار در تاریخ و حقیقت

این موضوع نه قابل بحث است، نه سلیقه‌ای، و نه وابسته به تفسیرهای نوین؛ پهنه‌ی آبی‌ای که از فلات ایران تا شبه‌جزیره‌ی عربستان گسترده شده، خلیج فارس نام دارد و همواره نیز چنین بوده است. این نام، اختراعی سیاسی یا اصطلاحی تازه‌وارد نیست؛ بلکه عنوانی است با قدمتی بیش از ۲۵۰۰ سال که در نوشته‌های مورخان یونانی همچون استرابون و بطلمیوس آمده و در صدها نقشه، سند، پیمان‌نامه و نوشته‌ی رسمی در طول تاریخ ثبت شده است.

تلاش برای تغییر این نام به‌خاطر مصلحت‌های سیاسی یا خودپسندی‌های منطقه‌ای، نه‌تنها بی‌احترامی آشکار است، بلکه تلاشی برای پاک‌کردن میراث فرهنگی و یک تحریف آشکار تاریخی محسوب می‌شود. اصطلاح «خلیج عربی» ساخته‌ای مدرن و بی‌پایه است که هیچ اعتبار علمی، تاریخی یا جغرافیایی ندارد و صرفاً توسط جریانات ناسیونالیستی در دهه‌های اخیر تبلیغ شده است. هیچ مورخ یا نهاد جغرافیایی معتبر جهانی این نام جعلی را به رسمیت نمی‌شناسد.

بیایید صریح باشیم: تغییر نام، تاریخ را تغییر نمی‌دهد؛ آن را تحریف می‌کند. این کار نه‌تنها توهینی به قرن‌ها دانش و وجدان علمی بشر است، بلکه بی‌حرمتی به میراث تمدن‌هایی است که این منطقه را ساخته‌اند. خلیج فارس تنها مسئله‌ای مربوط به غرور ملی ایرانیان نیست؛ بلکه مسئله‌ی حقیقت است. و حقیقت، تن به سیاست نمی‌دهد.
