Using MiXeR, we found extensive shared polygenic architecture with many disorders—even when overall genetic correlation was small or absent
New data reveal how migraine is more than just head pain:
-About 72% of patients reported pain beyond the head and neck
-More widespread pain was linked to higher pain intensity and less improvement over time
-Higher baseline fatigue was linked to worse symptoms at the start, but greater improvement in pain interference
-PTSD symptoms were not associated with outcomes in this group
-Overall improvements in pain and function were modest
Takeaway:
Assessment of chronic migraine should go beyond headache symptoms. Widespread pain and fatigue may shape how patients respond to treatment.

Overall, music engagement seems to be protective against later substance use. The same kids who are drawn to music may also be at elevated genetic risk, potentially through increased sensation seeking, yet the environmental contexts surrounding music may be protective.
