We are an ambitious third section band in the West of England Region, with a very successful training & development organisation for youth and adult learners
We’re very late in celebrating this but back in November, Etta and Jess took their Grade One (Cornet) and Grade Five (Horn) exams, respectively. We’re absolutely delighted to say that they both smashed it and achieved distinctions 🎶🥳
We’ve ended our epic 2024 Christmas carolling season on home turf yesterday evening, bringing some last minute festive cheer to the customers of Tesco Lydney! 🎶🎄
What a weekend! Over the last three days we’ve had ensembles bringing festive cheer to punters in Shirenewton, as well shoppers at the Taurus Crafts Christmas Market and Monmouth Waitrose! Whilst Lydney Training Band also performed at the St Mary’s Church Christmas Concert!☃️🎄🎶
A few festive highlights from the last few days: we’ve taken a tour of Lydney’s residential homes, performed at a fundraiser in Brockweir and entertained shoppers at Tesco Chepstow!
The Training Band also returned to take part in Chepstow Male Voice Choir’s Xmas Concert! 🎶🥵🎄
A few months ago, we said a fond farewell to Ben, ahead of his joining the Royal Marines. Last week, Ben celebrated his passing out ceremony and also in attendance was fellow Lydney Town Band alumnus: Daryl Powell!
Thanks so much to Sam for this photo of the pair of them ☺️🎶
First weekend of Christmas activities ✅
Lydney Training Band brought some festive musical cheer to the Lydney Lights Switch-On on Saturday! We also had ensembles of Town and Training Band players performing in Monmouth, Taurus Crafts and Primrose Hill School!!! 🎄☃️
The Lydney Town and Training Band Christmas Schedule is here! ☃
This weekend, Lydney Training Band will bring some much needed festive cheer at the Lydney Lights Switch-On. We also have ensembles performing at Primrose Hill School, Waitrose (Monmouth), and Taurus Crafts! 🎶
A few ‘behind the scenes’ photos from last weekend’s incredible experience at the @WychavonFoB 🎶☺️
Thanks to Louise, Emma, Kay and River for helping capture these lovely shots of the day!
Huge thanks to the organisers of the contest and everyone who came to support us on the day and who have been supporting the players in the background ☺️ Thanks also to Emma and Neil for these great photos, we’ll have some ‘behind the scenes’ photos for you in the coming days 🎶
Massive shout out to Malcolm, who wrote There Will Come Soft Rains, a superbly emotive piece that set up the story’s finale: I Want to Break Free, which featured a trombone solo from Adrian!
It’s not long until we present The Tale of Princess and the Dragon at this weekend’s @WychavonFoB !
Here’s a couple of shots from last night’s rehearsal courtesy of Tom 🎶🐉👸
They absolutely smashed through the initial fundraising target of £400, ultimately raising more £800! (…and they gained some snazzy medals along the way!).
A huge well done and thank you for all their efforts ☺️🎶
These five superstars have been busy raising money for new instruments for the band.
In August, Dougie, Kerry and Tim ran in the Severn Bridge 10k; whilst Mark and Rory took part in the Portishead 10k at the end of September!
