"You weren't my everything 'til we were nothing" 😭
Expressing all my love for #GayaSaPelikula thru this song cover + video edit. 🥺 Thank you so much for telling our story and for making us feel valid, GSP Team! ❤️Hanggang sa muli! @PaoPangs@ianpangilinan_@TheRainBro @jphabac
Perrie describes the “double-edged sword” of transitioning from a successful girl group to a solo career:
“I think I’ve struggled most with that shift. Little Mix had all the strategies; we knew our sound. It’s a flow. You know what works.
When you go solo, you look at yourself and think… Who am I without the group?
The fact that I could do anything overwhelmed me even more. It was like, ‘Do I wanna go more pop-rock?’, ‘Do I wanna go down this route?’, ‘Do I wanna do that?’ And then I kind of experimented with it.
[Music] is an art at the end of the day, so you have to try everything before you know. Look at Sabrina Carpenter – she’s been around for years and she’s tried so many different things. She’s been great for ages, but it just takes one thing to stick.
I think if I was a new, up-and-coming artist figuring my shit out behind the scenes and then I came out, I’d be less pressured. If I was working away, album after album after album, sonically different every time. But when you’re already established in a big group, it’s all eyes on you straight away. I feel like everyone’s watching everything I do already, so I can’t even necessarily experiment without people being like, ‘Well, is this her sound then?’ And I’m like, ‘Not necessarily! I’m just trying it!’
And if you don’t get it right straight away, it’s almost like people are either disappointed, or thinking, ‘Oh, I was expecting this,’ ‘I wasn’t expecting that’. [They] have expectations. I don’t want people hearing me and being like, ‘Oh, that’s not what I thought she was gonna do when she left the group’, or ‘That’s not the kind of route I thought she’d go down’. It is a lot of pressure.
You have to weigh up the pros and cons, really. You’re blessed in a way, because you have a fanbase already. I’m not starting in my studio wishing that people are gonna hear my music. But it is a double-edged sword, because then they’re like, ‘Oh, I’m disappointed’, ‘That’s not what I expected’, ‘I wanted this’, ‘I wanted that’. But let me just… have a minute. Do you know what I mean? Just let me find it. I’m not gonna be perfect straight out the gate. It doesn’t work like that.
And Little Mix – yes, we were successful and we won X Factor – but it didn’t happen overnight. It wasn’t instant. We had a few dodgy singles, or a few things that didn’t really work, and then we’d try something else. We were RnB at one point, and then we went really pop… Like, we tried everything. And it worked because people grew with us over time. Whereas I’m coming out from that, and they’re like, ‘Do something great now! Do it now! Instant!’ And I’m like… ‘Give me a minute! Just let me figure it out!’
So I’m kind of just going with the flow. The ‘Perrie’ album was very me, but there was a lot of different kind of things on there sonically. Now I think I know the world that I’m in.”
Cannot overemphasize the fact that if you want good examples for your kids, one way is to introduce them to good role models. And that includes not 👏 electing 👏 violent 👏 people 👏
PNP is finding a scapegoat on computer games, instead of acknowledging that the school shooting was the result of the culture of violence and impunity that it bred and proliferated throughout the years.
This ad irked Duterte so much that he tried to revoke Trillanes’ amnesty and successfully denied ABS-CBN a franchise.
All for it to be hauntingly prophetic.
Looks like these kids thought it is cool to copy school shooters in the US... I wish the ph stopped fostering fascist beliefs & encouraging red pill ideologies. It's leaking to the youth & people will suffer from it. Condolences for the departed, may their souls be granted mercy.
Ito yung political ad na nilabas namin nung 2016 campaign pero hinarang ng kampo ni duterte. Ngayon, alam nyo na ang epekto ng isang violent environment sa mga bata.
why does no one care about the fact that we’re projected to run out of clean drinking water by 2039 because of how much water ai data centers use please stop using chatgpt y’all, i beg. you do not need a shitty looking cartoon of yourself, i promise. the planet is dying.
Alan Peter Cayetano’s law school batchmates are calling him out for enabling a constitutional crisis.
Sabi nila, stop power-tripping the Senate, face the Ombudsman, and quit shielding Bato dela Rosa from the law under the guise of fake "protective custody."
Literal na tinuruan siya ng separation of powers, pero bakit anyare sa memory natin, gurl?
Fiat justitia ruat caelum.
Let justice be done though the heavens fall!
Someone has to be made accountable for Bato’s escape.
No less than the DILG Secretary and PNP Chief entered the senate building last night to secure the senators.
The public was assured last night Bato was in the “5th foor, in his room, resting”. Bato’s lawyer showed a video last night of Bato supposedly in the senate.
The senate building should’ve been secured last night - no one in, no one out.
We need answers. How did Bato escape? Who helped him?
When Bato shouted in front of a woman, who was a journalist working, you SAID NOTHING to address it, pero ngayong nataasan ka lang ng boses, iiyak ka ng ganyan.
THE DOUBLE STANDARD IS INSANE. THE WORST SENATOR ELECTED IN THE PHILIPPINES, ALONGSIDE WITH BATO.
the way some filipinos are intensely loyal to the duterte family is honestly something that needs to be studied. kasi what do you mean you can line up facts, context, even receipts, and they'll still give them the benefit of the doubt? it's kinda alarming and scary, tbh. 🥲
Mel Tiangco: matagal kayong hindi pumasok eh. 6 na buwan kayong nawala sa senado…
Karen Davila: tapos eto kayo tumatakbo, umiiwas sa mga pulis, umiiyak sa senado, takot na takot kayo…
HAHAHA women roasting the hell out of this stupid, cowardly senator. we love to see it! 😌
