Yesterday, the South African flag was lowered for the last time at the UN mission headquarters in the Eastern DRC, as the SANDF completes its withdrawal from MONUSCO. After 28 years of rotations, patrols, blood and sweat, South Africa's unacknowledged war has come to a end. We must never forget the sacrifices made, and the lives lost.
It is being claimed that some Malawians have returned to Malawi and sought the help of traditional healers/witch doctors in an attempt to take revenge on Phakelumthakathi over his role in pushing for the removal of illegal immigrants from South Africa.
According to the claims, his case has now been handed over to an elderly witch doctor living deep in the rural areas, who is allegedly “working on it.”
Btw this woman closed schools in Limpopo when she was MEC of education.
Forced children into long distance walks and scholar transport.
My hate for this woman is bigger.
Of course it is hard to document yourself in South Africa; when you have overstayed your 90-day visa by 5, 10, even 30 years. You are not here because of a paperwork delay. You are here because you chose to ignore the law, and the government chose to let you.
@_BellaM_@mailandguardian We've got to submit a complaint to the Press Ombudsman. The @mailandguardian failed to conduct the most basic journalistic due diligence before publishing this story.

The deleted article headline was
“after a recent rise in anti-immigrants protests and xenophobia in South Africa, the Nigerian government organized repatriation for citizens returning to Nigeria" @mailandguardian
We’ve seen similar reporting on immigration. Headlines repeatedly frame concerns as “anti-immigrant” or “xenophobic,” even when many people are specifically talking about illegal immigration and the enforcement of existing laws.@SAEditorsForu
Journalism should inform the public, not selectively shape the narrative. Accuracy, context and accountability matter, especially on issues as sensitive as immigration. Something needs to be done about @mailandguardian they can’t get away with this.
So @HomeAffairsSA had adverse findings against this guy but still didn’t deport him. He’s been trying to scam the immigration system since 2013, but still no action taken against him, that’s condoning the lawlessness.
I just saw South Africans. And I was about to greet but they did that thing where you quickly look away so the person doesn’t engage you.
They’re probably from joburg. 💔
It's NOT enough that Mail & Guardian journalist interviewed a Nigerian who turned out to be a criminal then merely deleted their interview
It's NOT enough that a You FM journalist lied about Jacinta inciting violence then merely apologised
They MUST be sued & reported to SANEF
Big breakthrough for Bradley Nkoana 🇿🇦!
The South African sprint sensation powered to a new PB of 9.95s (1.6) to win the men's 100m at the Immobel Meeting in Belgium.
With the performance, Nkoana becomes the 12th South African man to break the 10-second barrier and moves up to 7th on the country's all-time list.
📸 @News24 this I agree with Lt Gen Mkhwanazi on this point, especially with in light of what has come out of Madlanga. There are protocols between law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies to set up official meetings to officially discuss cases or any other issues related to working together. An investigator should not be setting up meetings between a provincial commissioner and the head of IDAC, they have PA’s or staff officers for this purpose, communication is often done in writing to keep records. @wicks_jeff
