Belarus may be a tiny country on another continent, but we should all be watching its people and asking ourselves if we are as brave as they are, if we care as much about democracy as they do, and if we would fight as hard for it.

"One of the criticisms I've faced over the years is that I'm not aggressive enough or assertive enough, or maybe somehow, because I'm empathetic, it means I'm weak. I totally rebel against that. Throughout the current obsession with ‘discussing’ trans people and their rights, there’s a set of voices that we don’t hear anywhere near enough from: trans people themselves.
That's what makes #TransPeopleAreRealPeople so powerful. Take some time today and have a read through.

Do you identify as BAME or know anyone who does?
What do you think of it?
Is it a term that can open doors?
Is it unhelpful?
Is it time to drop the acronym for more specific & accurate alternatives?
9am @BBCOne
How do you feel about the term #BAME? Do you find it unhelpful or patronising? This is a question that has been asked by one of our members on #WeRise and it would be useful obtain your opinions on the subject: https://t.co/K4VBedI6rn
let’s be clear...
the ‘B’ in ‘BAME’ is just a letter without substance, it never represented black people and has become a way of excluding us under the guise of inclusion...
#BAME was created without our voices or consent!
