James Darren, a teen idol who helped ignite the 1960s surfing craze as a charismatic beach boy in the film “Gidget,” has died at 88. https://t.co/dFGXGCkwHj
Oh for chrissake. This is perilously close to becoming our very own version of QAnon. And no, that is not a good thing.
Someone shot at him. He was barely grazed, but he was grazed. That's it. You're making us all look like idiots with your blowups and your sharpies.
.@peacock@peacocktvcare Will you guys please come up with a way to remove things from Continue Watching? Mine is filled up with Olympics stuff already and it's only day 4. If you want people to keep subscriptions, make this a better service.
1. The ‘blue man’ in the Olympics opening ceremony is Bacchus/Dionysus (Roman/Greek), the god of wine and revelry. There’s a famous painting of him in the catacomb tunnels under Paris, and also a famous painting of him hanging in the Louvre. It’s not ‘satanic’ and he doesn’t represent Moloch or any demon.
2. The woman in the centre isn’t trying to portray herself as Jesus. She’s clearly lady Liberty (think ‘the statue of Liberty’ donated to America by the French). Lady Liberty (Marianne) represents the French Republic.
3. They’re standing in front of a stage/catwalk (video shows people either side, but people are sharing a screenshot of just one side, to fit their narrative - and either way, when posing for a group photo it’s logical to all gather the same side).
4. People have intentionally cropped the still so it looks like there are the same number of people in the photo as there are in Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper (13). In reality, watch the footage and you’ll see there are more people.
5. But anyway, who (other than right-wing accounts on here and attention-seeking fake outrage merchants) decided this 100% is supposed to represent the last supper (also a fictional event)? Sure, it could be - perhaps they’ll confirm later. Unlikely. And who gives a toss.
@naretevduorp This wasn't the Christian last supper or a parody of it. It was Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and revelry. He had banquets long before Jesus did.
You would really think that someone in 11k comments would have mentioned that what they think was the last supper wasn't the last supper. It doesn't appear to have happened.
We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics.
@AmySommers1 @denisewu@CalltoActivism No. He's our bench. He needs a job where he can get some foreign policy experience, like something in defense, state, or a high-level ambassadorship.
